    Citimarine CTM air conditioning

Never mind. I found a post from last December that covered this issue

    Water Heaters

It’s time to research a replacement for my old Raritan 1700 series, 20 gal, hot water tank. Just trying to be proactive. The Raritan has a glass lined steel tank, while most of the others (Kuuma, Isotemp, Seaward) all have aluminum tanks. The Raritan has a 1250 watt element while some of...

    Californian name plate

Still a work in process. I will post pics when complete. Still need to paint the black aluminum plate.

    Californian name plate

Californian Logo Well, yesterday I pulled off the backing plate and to my surprise, it’s not plastic. It’s actually aluminum and the logo is cast aluminum. Rather than replace it, I’m going to sand and re-paint the plate. I have already sanded the face of the letters back to a smooth finish...

Put offer on 1989 48 motor yacht

My Carver Californian 4809 is a 1991 ( not a CPMY). Hull #513. She was built in NC in June of that year. Hope that helps. I’d wager yours was built in NC too.

GE SpaceSaver neutral to Ground strap

Well, I found the wiring schematic for the GE SPACESAVER. As suspected the internal green wire was in fact the neutral to ground strap. I removed it from the case ground and taped it off. Of course, the ground from the supply is still connected to the case ground. Radiant no longer trips...

GE SpaceSaver neutral to Ground strap

Thx Dave. Access is a PITA, but not impossible. There is a green wire leading from the machine’s internal wire conduit, terminated at the frame/case ground where it meets with the ground from the incoming electrical supply. I’m thinking this wire leads to the neutral and is actually the...

GE SpaceSaver neutral to Ground strap

Radiant is a 1991 48-foot Carver Californian 4809. 2-cabin motor yacht. We have the original GE SpaceSaver, stacked washer/dryer. Works great although the belts squeak a bit. I had my marina test my shore power connection with an ELCI device, which we immediately failed. I engaged a marine...

    New Washer/Dryer

I have the original GE Spacesaver washer/dryer stack circa 1991. Still works great although the belts squeak a bit. But my concern is the manual says the neutral is strapped to ground on these units. We are tripping an ELCI as a result. Has anyone been successful eliminating the neutral to...

    240vac split phase for oven

Tell me more. This would be preferred. I’m thinking your galley might be identical in layout to mine. Our’s is a 48 MY which I believe is the same as yours minus the cockpit.

Thx rwidman. You nailed it. That is exactly what I was looking for.

    240vac split phase for oven

240vac split phase for HOB Ok. I’m not an electrician, and I know enough to be dangerous here. I’m going to replace my old (1991) Origo 4-burner radiant HOB with a new induction 4-burner unit. But, I have to pull a 240vac line to the galley and put a 2-pole 30-amp breaker in the panel. Yes...

    Holding Tank Vent Filter

All righty then. I just flushed a couple of Tbls of Noflex in each head. Will do so again tomorrow to make sure it made it makes it past the vacuflush tank. Will see if my dock neighbors are happy. WE get pumped out every Wednesday and we use only fresh water. I’m thinking the Noflex...
