    Looking at Suzuki DF20

The website that I posted earlier is good for comparing. you can search by HP, brand, price, etc. I had the weights posted in the search last night but now can't figure out how I got it, but here's a page by horsepower. You can click on a motor and the specs are right there. Our DF20 is short...

    Looking at Suzuki DF20

"The tohatsu 20 (which is also the mercury and the Nissan) is about 20 pounds lighter" Any chance you can post those weight specs?

    Looking at Suzuki DF20

We bought the DF20 manual start, short shaft less than two years ago for our new Ukrainian made Gala dinghy. Love both. Our version weighs 97 pounds!!! It almost always starts on the first pull and never more than two. It does have a stiff pull but always starts immediately as there is no manual...

    Snow problems

Yes, it is more common than one might think. A few years ago, a big heavy snow pressed down my nieces Bristol sailboat below the waterline and sunk. It was on the Severn River above Annapolis, MD. Yes, Maryland!

    CE or Aqua Map

Hands down Aqua Map Master. No other cartography is updated more than Aqua Map and no other incorporates Corp of Engineer surveys. Also run Navionics on Simrad plotters and C-Map on tablet simultaneously but prefer AM on 10" Samsung Galaxy tablets.

MMSI number for travel to Canada

Yes, my mind is made up. As stated in my first post, "Yes, to comply with all aspects of being legal you should a have a ships station license and a federally issued MMSI number."

MMSI number for travel to Canada

Another boating MYTH. A free BoatUS MMSI will not work in Canada - absolutely FALSE. Yes, to comply with all aspects of being legal you should a have a ships station license and a federally issued MMSI number. If you activate your BoatUS issued number on a DSC enabled device like a VHF radio...

    Cleaning Stainless Steel - Rust

Started out using over priced Spotless Stainless. Sounds simple to use but you can't let it dry before final scrub off. Real pain to use. Then we used Wink which is better and available at drug stores and 5 & 10's. Now we use Z-Rust and Stain Remover Gel and love it. Melts rust away faster...

    Trolling with a trawler

Low speed on a diesel is NOT detrimental for occasional periods such as trolling for a few hours. Lehmans are marinized truck engines made to work at various RPMs, including idling at truck stops over night or idling for hours during freezing weather to avoid trying to start up in low temps. It...

    Long-term slip rental policies

Fort Pierce City Marina will sublet your slip while you are not in it and they keep all of the sublet $$ and credit you with none of it. You get absolutely nothing off your monthly invoice. It's not right, but they have been doing that for years.

    Keeping seagulls off bimini

Realistic fake snakes has worked for us. Just have to remove them in high winds and while underway.

    Plow or Bruce?

Neither. You will find better holding with a scoop type anchor such as the Mantus, Rocna or Manson Supreme.

    Another Broker Question

Go to the Knot10 website. They are a very well known broker and are a full service broker that does everything for you like any other broker. One of their offices is within walking distance of where I live aboard fulltime. I also personally know a DeFever trawler TF owner who was able to...

    Another Broker Question

It's a racket. Real estate brokers need to take classes, pass exams and be licensed. Boat brokers need none of that in most cases. Knot10 Yacht Sales . com does it for 7%.
