Has anyone installed a Weaver Leaver on a Zodiac Cadet 310? It looks like the aluminum casting on the transom has to be removed in order to mount the Weaver Leaver. I don't want to install the Leaver if removal of the casting compromises strength of the transom.

I have a Weaver Leaver on my Sterling hard dinghy, which is significantly different than your application. Suggest you contact Weaver Industries in Rathdrum Idaho with your question. I've found them good to work with in the past.
I seriously doubt that the alloy piece is structural to the transom. It’s just a plate designed to spread the load of the outboards clamps so you doing compress the transom core.
