Founded in Sweden in 1899 as a marine diesel engine and boat manufacturer. Albin sold the engine business to Volvo Penta in 1981 and continue to make boats to this day worldwide.

The Swift Trawler line include 34, 34S, 40 and 50. Beneteau Swifts are unmistakable for their vertical bow and high bulwarks, with a deck that is easy and safe to walk around.

Designer Jule Marshall founded Californian Yachts in the early 70's. In 1980, Californian was sold to Wellcraft Marine until '84 when he bought the brand back. Sold again in '86 to Carver that continued building until retiring the brand in '91. In '98 Marshall resurrected the brand in his new company Navigator Yachts where it remains in production. Models range in size from 30-55' in length.

The late Art DeFever, Naval Architect, is the man who rightfully earned credit for creating the cruising yacht designs we commonly call trawlers today. Since 1939, Mr. DeFever has drawn boats that are sea kindly, comfortable and pleasing to the eye.

In 1962 Kenneth Smith was commissioned to design Spray, a 36-foot diesel powered cruiser. A year later work started on a line of boats that would come to be known as Grand Banks. Since 1966 this line of boats has been the benchmark by which all other production cruisers are measured.

John and Warren Luhrs founded Mainship Trawlers in 1977 producing trawlers in lengths from 31 feet to 45 feet. The brand continues today as Marlow-Mainship

Mr. R. M. “Tolly” Tollefson was the founder and builder of Tollycraft Yachts. ... History began and throughout 35 years over 6,000 vessels were built. Tollycraft was known to make high-quality boats.

The place to discuss boats that can be transported overland with or without special permits... If you can normally transport it without too much fuss, it goes here. Bayliner, Nimble Nomad, Rosborough, Scout, Sea Ray, Vashon and a whole host of others too.

Willard Marine produced full displacement trawler yachts from 1961-2003 in 30-40 foot lengths. Fales are their somewhat controversial cousins.
