hi to all.
Thought I might just share a couple of pics of the scenery around the Dampier archipelago. A great place to cruise and fishing is good. Seen very few others doing the same as me. Most traffic is boats servicing offshore oil and gas and tankers taking iron ore and LNG to wherever.
A few of the Aussie guys on this site would have worked in the area.

Would that be named after William Dampier?

Great pics, and your Finn 8 (which I admire) looks at home there.

Would be interesting to find something resembling the Finn 8 (in terms of practicality and style) here in the U.S.

Bogranjac,

Great place to be. Did you bring it up there by road or on her own bottom?

I noticed you have a flopper stopper setup on the boat. How's that working for you.
And how's the fishing?

Hi AusCan,

Took her up to Dampier on the trailer. Went via Meekatharra/Mt Newman (the long way) for a change of scenery from the coastal route and to view
the stunning wildflowers from this wet and exceptionally cold winter in W.A.
The FlopperStoppers worked beyond my wildest dreams. I highly recommend them and will never be without them again - totally ironed out tide swell, never felt any rocking. Will follow this post with some pics of floppers and how I made them and deployed.

Fishing was good - coral trout and mackeral mostly so no complaints.

Must have been a great trip!
Yes - the desert certainly is blooming this year. We've has a wet one in SA as well.

btw - I was just noticing that our boats look like cousins. Definitely some similarities.
