    Trailer Trawler

Au contraire shipmate! Most trailer trawlers have less than a 9' beam. That is why they are called "trailer trawlers". I own one at 28' 8'beam. I am looking at it now, as I type, sitting on its trailer. There is a group on facebook named Trailer Trawlers. The OP should have a look at it...

New to Great Lakes Cruising and in Need of Guidance

I am prejudiced as I cruise the NE coast of Lake Michigan in the summer. Mackinac south. Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Traverse City, Charlevoix The offshore islands, Beaver, Manitou, Beaver etc are well worth the time. I have not been south of Rogers City, although I have lived there in my younger...

    Lower priced AC Soft Start

I purchased a 2500w inverter generator last year. Op tested it yesterday for the 1st time on my 5th wheel's Dometic roof AC. I have a similar roof AC on my 28' trailer trailer. I plan to use the genset on the boat when cruising. As expected when I turned on the AC it's compressor bogged down the...

    Rearming an inflatable PFD

I have maybe 1/2 dozen clunky/gumby West Marine life vests on board. We do not wear them underway. I am considering inflatable vests. If I remember correctly neither the Admiral nor I has accidentally gone overboard in 30 years of boating. As age advances I think wearing an inflatable would be...

    Do I need Windshield wipers?

You don't need them until you do. By asking you feel you do. If you are handy they can be inexpensive and easy to install, personal experience. Nice boat. Definitely yes.

    Hilton Head vs. Charleston

In the 90's we did many inspection/acceptance missons to BIW, Burke class destroyers. For what it does, accomplish it is small, tiny in acreage. Amazing how they do what they do on a postage stamp.

    Red Rover

Victoria BC I assume. They are passagemakers if it is them. I just googled NT 42. Didn't realize it was a Nordic Tug. Top drawer boat. I am sorry I did not shout them out at the restaurant. This is bassin country. Rarely is a boat of that caliber seen around here.

    Red Rover

I was impressed when I saw this lady. Having a late lunch at Corky Bells in East Palatka Fl on the St. Johns River earlier in the week. Never spoke with the owners so if you are around chime in, please.

    Recommended Marinas Acapulco MX?

In the early 60's my parents, during the Michigan winter would fly to Acapulco for 2 weeks, Las Brisas. In the 6 decades hence I have never made it. Then, Acapulco was referred to as "the pearl of the Pacific". Que lastima!

    Gulfstar MK II available

Spoke with a transport company today. This is an unfeasible hair brained scheme. If I could delete this post I would. Good bye.

    Gulfstar MK II available

I am treading on dangerous ground here but the lines of this boat really gets me. It is a Gulfstar Mk II 43'. 2 Perkins diesels. It has what I believe is called a bilge keel. Don't know the year. Early 80's? Stated "Project" but was running 2 years ago when put on the hard. Splash is paid for...
