Do you plan to operate your boat or just live aboard in the marina? Big difference in expenses. If you'll operate it, are you mechanically inclined? Can you service engines, replace water heaters, repair boat plumbing issues, keep the various mechanicals and electrical systems operating...

I explained here how I approached this and it worked for me. I have a hose from the new shower drain to an inline strainer to the pump to an above-waterline through-hull drain.

I'm not at my boat so I can't measure right now but it looks like that hatch will work. Mine is solid fiberglass with no skylight but only a small vent added. As a result, my fwd stateroom is dark but cool in the sun when the hatch is closed. I'll watch for your posted pics.

Do you have upper and lower helms to crosscheck the alternator readings? To me, it seems like your port battery voltage may be dropping off more after the start than the stbd battery. Could it have a weak cell? Have you checked the water level and the specific gravity of each cell?

It'd be great to troll through his inventory. Does he have a website for a look-see?
