As a followup to my earlier posts (#15) we decided it was too much trouble to keep the bikes on the covered sundeck - wing doors were too tight. So we bungied them to the rails on the forward deck - got too lazy to keep them covered. Were great on the Loop and lasted for the year, but the salt...
We recently sold our 1988 42' CHB Present (45' overall) pictured to left. Named Present's on east coast and Poderosa's on west coast. CHB's build in late 80's have far fewer issues. No teak exterior decks for example. We loved the covered sundeck layout with large aft master. Perfect boat...
We sold our boat (on the left) by ourselves using the AGLCA classifieds - low six figure amount. But if it had not sold quickly we would have used Curtis Stokes & Associates. Curtis has been a great supporter of AGLCA. We did use a buyers broker six years ago when we bought the boat - and...
I replaced two GalleyMaid's with Raritan Marine Elegance - best move I made on that boat - no issues for the following five years we owned the boat. Fresh water flush only, so fairly quiet - we carried 370 gal of fresh water.
Love this post - most encouraging. I posted earlier that we sold our 'big' Loop boat and bought a smaller boat - nothing to do with age (68) - just another project. Actually made money on the big boat! Thankful for good health so far - we will be hiking the Portuguese Camino this fall with...
If you haven't found anything yet, there is a 40' CHB Present sundeck motoryacht/trawler for sale at Columbus Marina, in Columbus, MS on the TennTom. Needs TLC but hits all of your requirements - two staterooms, two heads, twin Ford Lehmand 135's. Its not the boat pictured on the left, but...
I keep my 'new to me' 1968 CC Commander at a Marina on the Tenn-Tom in MS. A very nice older gentleman and his dog live on a nice houseboat across from me (covered slips). He loves to joke that we are twins - he's 86 and I'm 68!! He sets a great example for the rest of us. My wife's...
If you want to come a bit further south, Kingfisher Bay Marina in Demopolis, AL (on the TennTom Waterway) has a haul-out yard where you can plug in elec and water and work/stay on your boat - pump-outs are available also.
