Our 30' only gets up to about 7-8 kts, but very economical.

Our 30' also has a flying bridge which is very nice. We put a freezer up top and it works great right behind the bench where we drive. If the weather is nice, my favourite spot is up front in a lawn chair while we travel.

We own a 30' Californian since 2012. We have learned to trust it and enjoy it since our beginnings with it. Its very comfortable, well set up, and economic with the single Perkins diesel motor. Yes it is 29'6", and 10' beam, your dimensions are correct. We spent 32 lovely days on the ocean...

I have enjoyed all the comments. We had decided to enlarge the rudder already, our boat just does not back up well at all, so we are thinking rudder size as it does seem very small for the boat. Will know how it worked this summer and do a post for sure.

This is identical in setup as our 30'. Love ours.

I did get a picture on if you go into Island Time hopefully you can see it. We have learned lots in all the years and are very happy with the boat now.

We feel that the rudder is a bit small for sure. We are adding a bit this year and think it will make a big difference. As for weight, the boat isn't really heavy, and doesn't sit low in the water. With what we have seen this boat do in rougher water has made us trust it a lot! I suppose...

We have made it through waves from every direction coming over us for 3 hours. It rolls hard, and at times I am sure I was looking straight to the bottom. Hubby is a great captain, the boat must have incredible ballast because it just kept popping back up thankfully. We have much more...

Californian 30’ 1982 30’ Californian Wellcraft hopefully the picture shows up. Owned since 2012, in Quesnel, BC. Have really enjoyed this boat in Bella Coola, looking forward to next year.
