    Propeller Shaft Zinc Reality Check

The shaft zinc lasts about 2-3 months on my boat too...GB36 with single screw. I'm installing a transom zinc this year with bonding to a shaft brush. We'll see how that works.

    Grand Banks 36 single screw

If there is one up in there, you'd have to pull the shaft tube to get to it. And I don't know what exactly that would entail. You'd have to drop the rudder to get it out of the way. I have the same boat and it would be a pretty big job...

    Bilge Pumps

Installed a 4000 Johnson in my GB 36. Had to increase to a 20a breaker because of the increased current draw from the motor, as well as installing a current compatible float switch. Wiring was plenty robust for the increased draw. Blasts the water out!

    GB42 Keel Question

Reading about the keel drain plug on your 36. I have a 79 36 and was wondering if you could take a picture of where your keel drain plug is located. Thanks!

    I think I found her

Brought my 36 up from Lindenhurst LI to Portland ME last summer. Made it from Lindenhurst to Shinnecock in about 9 hours. From there to Point Judith was about 10. We had decent weather. Another 8-9 hour day from there to Sandwich MA at the end of the Cape Cod Canal. Last day was 14 hours from...

    36 late 80's era

Go ahead and be a douche. It's your money, keep it that way! I ended up spending way too much on a 36CL that needs a lot of attention....At least I have something to keep me occupied in retirement.

    Winterizing on the hard

5 gallon drywall bucket of non tox. Disconnect inlet hose from the strainer insert in bucket, start engine and run the bucket down. Stop engine. Reattach hose. Leave seacock open. Same for generator.

    Freshwater hook up

I've seen a boat go down because of an improperly installed shore water inlet. That being said, I installed a shore water inlet on my last boat and used it for many years with no problems. The inlet was actually an RV one which was the same as the "marine" one for 2/3 the price, and had a built...
