    If you're in doubt, try stripping off a little insulation and try a blue connector. If it doesn't go on, it will require a standard yellow connector, not the step down connector. Ted

    Actually there are butt crimp connectors specifically designed for different size wires. In the attached pic, the yellow one is for normal yellow size to normal blue size, and the blue is for normal blue size to normal red size. The end with the ring is for the smaller wire size. Ted

    Groco offers a rebuild kit for their strainers, available through most retailers who stock parts. Basically it's all the orings. I kept one on the boat to cover any problems. I believe I added spare lid orings from a hydraulic store, as those were the ones most likely to get chewed up. Ted

    I would stay with the original tubing, but put it inside another tube for safety. Think of it as running a number of wires, but inside PVC conduit. 1/2" PVC or 1/2" PEX would certainly protect it. Ted

    There is atleast one, maybe 2 ships that run out of Jacksonville to I believe Puerto Rico. They run on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), or mostly LNG. Seems far more environmentally friendly than bunker and solar. Ted

    While probably very stable, wide kayaks paddle like a bath tub, slow and a great deal of effort. If you play around an anchorage (few hundred yards from the boat) they're probably fine. If you're going a few miles, not so much. Long and skinny definitely paddle faster. Ted
