    Ease of Boarding...or getting off?

Getting on off the boat was one of my wifes concerns. What was easy and safe is becoming not as we are getting older, pushing 70, and Everett marina is eliminate our dock. So depending on our new slip, we are looking at changes. Being a live aboard using one and many times no hands is very...

    Trawler Search

Best to let the significant other have the majority say and final say on the boat if you want many years of happy boating. Also make sure you walk the yards so you have some idea of what is below the water line. My wife found and had final say about the Eagle. 19 years of being a live aboard...

    Newbie to Trawlers

Depends how far off shore, the time constraints, and creature comforts. Trawler tend to be full semi displacement, 6 to 15 knots, but tend to have more creature comforts. More detail would be helpful.

River boaters upgrading to a coastal trawler

That was a quick change from wanting a coastal trawler to a ketch. You hardly put forth the effort. If you are truly interested in coastal trawler, then walk the commercial docks and yards in you area, and talk to the commercial. It will give you an idea and information of what a...

    Generator using oil

The roof air should draw about 10 amps, and you probably have a couple of out let's to plug in other items. Also I would go with a straight 30 weight oil, not the thin multi weights that are popular today. I use straight 30 weight in boat and truck engines. Old school. :oldman:

A different way to do the same

We sorta trailer cruised before we bought the big boat. When the kids were small we always pulled a run about around. When the kids got older we also had a 28 ft Rienel that we trailer up and down the BC, California, Oregon Washington coast. So we had a little of both. In the fall we plan...

    Time to move

You live on dirt:eek: when you bought the boat I got the impression you where going too live on it. Everett is our 3 marina in 19 years, and will be forced to new slip. If we don't like the new slip then we would also look at selling and buying a bigger motor home so we might becoming to an...

Over the years we found the best solution is not anchor.:D the boat had well still sorta has a raw water wash down, but I had the thru hull filled in and glassed over as we seldom used. Future owners could easily hook up again. What we use the bow shower hose spray thing which is fresh water...

    water ballast

Not many plrasure boats have water ballast, its more of a commercial, navy long range. As fuel supplies are used water its replaced with water for stability. If the eagle attempted as ocean crossing depending on condition I would pump water into tanks for stability as it has a third mid fuel...
