    Hybrid Ship

Today was the first time I've ever seen or heard about these. Very cool, first I saw it in Florence docked. Now it cruised right by us.

AC vs portable dehumidifier when leaving boat in Southern Florida

I use a small dehumidifier and this was the interior temp and humidity after being closed up in South Florida. The cooler temp and lower humidity was after turning on the ac for a little over an hour

    On Air Conditioning...

I just finished an install of a Webasto FCF Platinum 16k btu 2 weeks ago and it is working incredibly well so far. Very pleased and it cools the hotbox salon quickly and keeps it cold. Yesterday it was 86° out and it cooled the main cabin to 73° within 15-20 minutes. After that I shut it down...

    Finally identified fuel leak

Definitely one of the less expensive items purchased! I did have my starter rebuilt instead of replacing.

    Finally identified fuel leak

I ordered the new pump in lieu of attempting to rebuild the 40 year old one as the new pump is $60 and figured why not. As for the new gaskets and seals....I followed my mechanic's instructions on what to order.

    Finally identified fuel leak

After a lot of searching, wiping and strategic placement of absorbent diapers, I have finally traced my very slow leak to the fuel lift pump. Called mechanic and sent him pictures. Called Trans Atlantic Diesels and ordered the pump, gaskets and seals per mechanic's direction. This has been an...

New wall treatments and how to attach on a 80 Mainship Trawler

For the Sailrite headliner carpet I will use 3M Super Trim Spray Adhesive. I used this combo on a previous sailboat and plan to use it again. For the SeaGrass, it has a felt-like backing and I used Roberts indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive and applied it using 1/8" v-notch trowel.

AC vs portable dehumidifier when leaving boat in Southern Florida

I installed a solar vent as well as run this dehumidifier which drains into the head sink. It's been over 2 years now and do not have any mold, mildew or smell. I am in South Florida. https://www.amazon.com/Levoair-Dehumidifier-Portable-Basements-Bathroom/dp/B092D3FJSD

    New Air Conditioner install

One of the interesting parts of this project is that I was going to also install a soft start for the new unit and add one to the old unit so the generator would handle both units starting and running simultaneously. I didn't add the option to either and the genny runs both units together with...

New wall treatments and how to attach on a 80 Mainship Trawler

I had the same carpet on ours and the salon also had it on the ceiling. I removed it all and sanded all areas. The salon ceiling was sanded using 200 grit and finished with 600 grit and was then painted. The salon walls are now teak. The v-berth walls are now vinyl SeaGrass and the ceiling...

    New Air Conditioner install

I completed the install and now have two units operating, new 16000 btu for the salon & the old 12000 btu for the galley and v-berth. Ran new ducting for both systems. It gets very cold now. Boat gets below 73 degrees inside while it's 89 degrees outside. Very pleased.
