    Anyone need a cooler?

Hi there, some of you may know that I just brought my Swift Trawler up to Lake Union from Oakland. I have a brand new (only used this trip) RTIC roto-molded cooler that I'd love to not have to ship back to CA. I'm flying in tonight and will be in Lake Union tomorrow. Anyone interested in...

    ST44 Mattress sizes

Hi all, does anyone know offhand what the mattress size is for the guest stateroom and the sofa bed in the salon? Is it a full in the salon and a queen in the guest stateroom? I forget. Thanks, Mike

Weird Navionics behavior (web vs mobile)

Anyone have any experience with the Navionics web app and mobile app showing different distances between the same two points? Also, the web app seems to have a bug because if it is actually 320.8 nm, it will obviously take longer than 23 hours @ 12 knots. My assumption is that the web app is...

    Possibly heading north

So looks like there is a weather window to head north from San Francisco to Seattle, departing very early Monday morning, with potential short stops (a few for fuel) in: Eureka or Crescent City - CA Newport - OR Westport (Grays Harbor) - WA Neah Bay - WA Neah Bay - WA Seattle - WA I've been...

    Fuel filter part #'s

Hi all, can someone tell me the part numbers for the fuel filters for the D4-300I-F? The ones for the racor style and for the ones that spin-on to the engine. Also, do you have a good source to purchase? Thanks!

Spare fuel filters for trip up the coast

Hi all, weather permitting, I am going to leave in a few weeks for our trip up the coast to Anacortes. The captain I hired said I should buy some spare fuel filters in case we hit rough weather that stirs up any sediment that could be in the fuel tanks. On the Volvo D4-300I-F, seems like...

    Brokers in the Pacific Northwest

About to take my Swift Trawler 44 up to Anacortes, or that general area, to sell. Doing some due diligence on brokers in the area. Anyone have any that you really like, any to stay away from? Feel free to send me a PM. Thanks in advance!

    SF to Seattle in April/May

Hi all, I am considering taking my boat up the coast in the April/May timeframe if anyone is interested in joining as a buddy boat. Thanks, Mike

    Experience with Brokers

Just curious, for those who have used a broker to sell a boat, what was the communication like between you and the broker? How often did you speak, what types of updates did you get from the broker, etc. Thanks, Mike

Foggy day in San Francisco today!

Went out of the estuary today and hit a wall of fog. This photo was taken a few hundred feet away from the Bay Bridge. Saw it on radar and plotter obviously, but kept wondering whether it would actually appear in front of my eyes!

    Selling my Swift 44

Hi all, just a heads up that I'm putting my 2014 Swift 44 on the market. It's been a great boat, and is currently turn key. Even the pesky rudder seal leak has been fixed. Whoever purchases her will benefit from my neurotic personality as the boat is immaculate. I've also made a number of...

    2014 Swift Trawler 44

$479,000 Likely going to be putting up my 2014 Swift Trawler 44 for sale soon. It's located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Boat is in impeccable condition. Unfortunately (or fortunately in this case) I am completely neurotic. Approximately 320 hours. Mains and generator just serviced...

    New ST47 Model

Just spotted this. Styled more like the newer ST35. Extra cabin over the ST44. Much bigger fuel tank (510 gallons). Interesting. I personally prefer ST44's mix of modern and classical styling. https://www.beneteaulife.com/powerboats/swift-trawler/#ST47

    Saw this 257 footer today

Pretty impressive. Docked in Alameda, CA in the Estuary. I think it has a swim up bar. https://www.yachtcharterfleet.com/luxury-charter-yacht-22656/rocinante.htm

    Weird thruster behavior

I was out in SF Bay and the weather was pretty rough (small craft warnings). Fast moving 4' wind waves from 30+ knot afternoon winds that were extremely short period. Anyways, if I forget to shut the thrusters off after leaving the dock, they'll beep, reminding me to do so. I think at that point...

    Vibration issue and motor mounts

Posted this on boatdiesel but figured I'd post here as well to see what people thought: Would love to see if anyone has guidance here. The prior owner of my boat had a grounding event (there was some superficial fiberglass damage and both props got beat up), and I am in the process of fixing...

    Toured a Nordhavn 55 yesterday

Goodness, it's only 11 feet longer than my boat but felt like a small ship in comparison. Just a massive boat built like an absolute tank. Super impressive. We went into the engine room (four of us) and actually had a conversation in there. Boat was in great condition. Definitely didn't look...

    Setting anchor

Do people usually set the anchor while the force of the rode is still on the windlass? Or do you first tie the rode to a cleat before setting by hitting reverse? Thanks, Mike

Let AGM batteries go to 0% charge

Hi all, so it appears I forgot to flip the electrical switch on the dock and my AGM batteries were fully discharged and sat that way for approximately a week. Curious, how badly did I screw them up or shorten their lifespan? I want to know how upset with myself I should be. :banghead...

    $15,423 Coast Guard Fine

Yikes! Fortunately looks like I won't have to pay it, especially since I renewed right away (I was expired by 1 week). But goodness, can you imagine having to pay a fine like that just because your registration expired.

    Tax rate

Does anyone know what the unsecured property tax rate is for Alameda? I believe a boat is considered either "personal" or "unsecured" property. Is this a different tax rate? I used all of my Googling skills and came up empty. Thanks, Mike

    Moldy caulking

For those of you who have mold/mildew stains on the caulking, especially at the hull to deck joint around the cockpit, I just had it replaced. Cost me around $500 to have someone remove the caulking around the cockpit as well as the caulking around the flybridge. Replaced it with 3M 4000 UV...
