We had à system to "lock' our shaft on our Cheoy Lee 53, it was like à car disq, it was locked when the key of the engine was in stop and it open when you start the engine. Are you sure than à locked propeller do less drag than free one ? Fre ch désigner Joubert on his motor sailor...

72' Alloy trawler is back in the market

At less you must start the engine each 3 hours for lubrification, ( or switch ps to sb each 3 hour) it is what they say on the documentation. On our former boat the hurtz don't need this regular start.

Depth sounder offset. True or depth beneath keel????

I always put the "real" ( from surface)because : nothing to do for my old brain ( until I still remember my ...draft) for example a "bathymetric ligne " of 20 m just looking 20m ( eventually corrected by the tide at this moment). not need to make plus to the keel or plus to the transducer.

    Broken heart ahead....

Domino is one interesting catamaran closer to my "dream power cat Santorini" than the too high, too heavy, too low bridge standard powercat. And Domino have a similar consumption than our former LC62 it means near...half than the actual at 10kts :-) Domino is all I like in powercat small draft...

    Interesting boats

I like the retro look of this motor sailor ( if it will be not me who must do the varnish ! :-) ) But I don't understand this amazing high diesel consumption !? 6/7 kts = 7 to 8 gal per hour !? It means average 4.35 lt per nm I think mistake between gal and liter ? Because 4.35lnm it is more...

    Steadying sail design/rigging?

The jib was fitted because ...the mast was already here and we we already had this jib. The main sail could be used for both. In our example 15kts of wind could make a "pressure" of 3.8 kg per sqm x 17 sqm x by the high of the center of the main sail it dampen the roll. even "only" the inertia...

    Steadying sail design/rigging?

The main sail was made by Lee Sail Hong Kong the jib was made long time ago, may be 45 year ! by French sail maker Tonnerre but unused since we fit it on our Long-Cours 62. with only the jib by 15 kts on the side we can reach the amazing :-) speed of ... + 3 kts

    Steadying sail design/rigging?

Photo of what we put on our last boat here Mâture - Trawler long-cours The mast is a 9kg per m, the length was 8 m, stand up with 7 cable : one fore, 2 each side on the roof, 2 aft. It was for a boat 32T , beam 5 m, draft 1.3m, lead ballast 2.3T The main sail was ( memory ?) 17m2 full batten

    Interesting boats

If I had 10 year less and x10 on my bank account she could be an interesting choice. She was for sale , disappear "sold" and reappear "for sale". Relatively small volume in arrangement for the size. For this amount of money the NED 70 was more interesting for us , but this one with few good...
