Bristol Trawler Islander Owner Info I'm the third owner, and have had "Islander" since 2004. She is a great boat, and we've had her from the Bay of Fundy (Canada) down to the Florida keys. One child is in AK, and the other in Seattle. They're not coming back, so it seems we'll have to head that...

    Scouting Mission - Seattle Area

Thanks All - great ideas and a lot to pack into this initial foray. We probably won't get our daughter out of Alaska, but it looks like an easy jump up to visit. Its been said the coast of Maine/Nova Scotia and the Washington/BC areas are the ones to see. Done one, cant wait to try the other...

    Scouting Mission - Seattle Area

Hi Group! Its taken 25 years of cruising Maine's coastline for it to start getting stale (Penobscot Bay IS a jewel). However we have one child in Seattle and the other in Alaska, and the bucket list includes exploring the PNW. We're flying into Seattle the beginning of May and would sure...

Free: 30 back issues of Passagemaker Magazine

Hey all, we're beginning the process of moving full time onto the boat. I don't need to drag these magazines around anymore, but hate to take them to the recycling center as there are some great articles in them. First one in can have them for the price of UPS shipping. I'm in zip 04915.

    Steel fuel tank age survey

Just had their 40th Birthday! They have nice big access ports so access is no problem. Cleaned every 10 and thoroughly inspected on the 5s, with the occasional peek in between.

    Engine Mount Replacement -

Thanks Brooksie, I have a good bit of room on the forward mounts - (picture attched) so I might be able to use more modern mounts forward and old school similarly rated mounts aft? Or would that just create a lot more problems. Thanks

    Engine Mount Replacement -

The old engine mounts are tired - time to replace. Cat 3208. What says the group on replacing the mounts without lifting the engine? I was considering raising diagonal corners all the way up, lowering another corner all the way down, which would theoretically lift the 4th corner up enough to...

Air in Fuel Delivery Lines or Bad Lift Pump?

Guys - here's one that has me head scratching. I think I've got some air in the suction side leading into the fuel filters - 5psi on start up and then drops to 0 psi. The engine is a 3208 NA 210 hp (4000 hrs). The 200 gallon tanks are pretty low(60 gallons between the two sides on the sight...

    Flybridge Enclosure / Isenglass recommendations

Duvie, there is no doubt that pressed products are harder to cut and manage through your sewing machine. We usually mask both sides of the glass before pushing it through the machine, and never leave the tape on for more than 24hrs. It is brutally expensive material and you want to ensure you...

    Flybridge Enclosure / Isenglass recommendations

We use both OSea and Strataglass 40 for our customers. We like the Osea as there seem to be fewer manufacturing blemishes in the pressed sheets. Lesser glass is rolled, OSea & Stratglass are pressed acrylics. Both are quality products, with great clarity. OSea is far more forgiving if you touch...
