Attached is a shot of the D400 potential output based on wind speed. It has to be howling to get the 400 watts. If you live where it blows 15 24/7 you could get 240 amp-hrs a day out of it. I have sailed with a friend that has one. The wind turbine output is not significant.

I use bromide tablets in AC strainer. It does keep hoses clean. Can't tell yet if it works on AC coils. I put copper fittings in engine strainers. Not sure it really does anything.

I have the same Genset. It's in a sound enclosure ( that doesn't do much). It's a pain to work on the area of the cooler and pump due to the enclosure. Even with the panels removed.

Maybe try securing solar while engines on. That 800 watt system would carry house loads and the Alternator would shutdown. Let the Alt carry house loads when cruising. I have solar and had your same problem. Our fix was adding a pickup on the flywheel gear. It's easy on a Cummins.

Are you driving the tach from the Balmar 612 regulator? The #10 connection is designed to keep the tach alive when the regulator doesn't charge. I have heard of cases where it doesn't always work.

Are you sure you just didn't fail to water the battery? If you let it dry out it will cook the battery.
