Just discovered this item under the floor of my boat. We own the boat for 18 months and thought I knew it all haha. Hope the TF brain trust can figure it out. Thanks all.

I would think that it is an air compressor with a tank, which way is the proper orientation of the photo..........:thumb:

Looks like a plumbing pressure tank to me.. Holds a bit of air and water so f/water pump doesn't come on so often....

Both of the above are possibilities so need more info to be sure...

Do you have an air horn?
Can you tell or guess where the black tubing from top is headed / connected to?
Is the metal unit below the tank connected to the tank & appear to be part of the system? Is it connected to the 12V system? If you have an air horn have someone activate it and monitor the unit to see if it cycles on/off

Is the tank connected to the fresh water system?

Maybe the pump and pressure tank for air horns…

I would guess air since the hose is so small.

I believe it's the horn because I do have Kahlenbergs. I'll check tomorrow and report back.

And the prize goes to all who said air horn compressor. Thanks to all for your help!
