I have a hose coming from the bottom of my oil pan on the side of the engine facing port. It goes horizontally toward the front of the engine and is clamped in place. It has a brass cap that I think I can remove and connect a pump to remove the engine oil. Has anybody done this? What is the thread size?

Yes - you can pump your oil out with a various types of pumps - manual, drill attachment, etc. Warm your engine/oil up in advance for easy pumping - just a few minutes (you do not want it at operating temp as the oil may be too hot to handle). Sorry - but no clue on the thread size.

Hello Mike,

It should be 1/2" NPT. And yes you can attach a pump to it. That hose is very commonly attached to a Reverso pump. Just remember to raise the end of it above the oil level prior to removing the cap!

Thank you.
I noticed a clamp that’s bolted to the engine straight up from the hose end. I wonder if the hose can be kept in that clamp all the time.

You may or may not have a shutoff valve on the drain pan. Check before you try pumping the oil out.
