So, last year I created a new house battery bank. I installed a separate pair of busses (one neg and one pos). The bank goes to an inverter that's wired into the house AC system.

I haven't connected anything but the inverter to the bonding system. Do I need to connect the house bank negative (ground) to the bonding system?

what/how did you connect inverter to bonding system, basically the negative of the battery to the chassis. The battery negative should already be connected to the bonding.

The battery negative isn't connected to the bonding system right now. I can connect it, but I'm wondering why do so? Do we connect battery bank negatives to bonding to prevent corrosion?

ABYC says that is how it should be done.
Again I ask why did you connect the inverter to the bonding system, and how.

The old inverter (Magnum 2000) had the bonding cable attached. When I replaced it with a Victron 5k, I reattached in the same relative place - to one of the feet bolted to the shelf.
