my Neptunus have
lewmar concept 2 windlase
anchor chain 9,5mm USA standard in funny imperial measurement in a fraction.Kudos to American engineers for what they manage to do with that ridiculous imperial system. they absolutely have to do multiple calculations for everything, limited sources of goods, etc., especially when it comes to fractions. Why didn't they choose percentages and not fractions?
delta SS anchor around 25 kg.

for now I think I buy
lofrans sx 3.5 windlass Maximum Pull 1700 kg and

13mm DIN766 13x36 MF Grade 40 Calibrated Anchor Chain maybe 75-100 meter

Break Load 106Kn = approximately 10809kg
and now dilemma rocna vulcan 55 kg or delta 60 kg or DC 60 kg
Previus owner newer be on anchor more couple hour. i am oposit anchor 99,99 time only if coming storm over 60 knots go to marina. (in summer for me 17,9 meter long price is around 200€ day

now price
lofrans sx 3.5 €1.579 79 or
Lofrans x3 for €1.764 66
13mm DIN766 13x36 MF Grade 40 100 meter 1100€
Rocna 55 kg 2300€ Rocna 40 kg 1665€
Delta 60 kg 400-1000€ depend Mf for example local delta 80 kg 556€

If you haven't already, see anchor test videos by Steve Goodwin, S/V Panope, on YouTube. His #131 (IIRC) has some comparison charts, toward the end, or he may have something newer by now too.

His tests likely won't include anchors large enough for your requirements, but the shape-to-effect comparisons will probably be useful.

Of your choices: We've used a Delta in the past, good results in some places, not so great in others. Overall, mediocre.

This summer I replaced my 20kg Bruce with a 33kg Vulcan. When backing up to set it in clay like normal the result was more like an accident when the anchor set. It threw me off balance. I wasn't going backwards very fast.

in Croatia hard thin layer sand and week grass is best kobra 2. but problem is max weight is 35 kg. i think also vulcan, ultra is good anchor. but also is good money.
this delta ,plastimo DC version is a little risky . i more interested in holding power ws quick catch. but I also like vulcan and think i go on vulcan oly must wait winter diskount. what you have our boat is similar size

In that case... we eventually went with a Vulcan 40... compromise of weight, size, what will fit/ride on our davit, windlass power, etc. With a Mantus Anchor Guard, to keep the fluke tip from digging into the stainless catch plate on our bow.

Barely fits. And I couldn't lift it if the windlass craps out.

Not really tested, yet. IOW, not a recommendation. (Yet?) We've only anchored a couple times since all the upgrades.

And the original Anchor Guard -- small size, installed after our early anchoring events -- bent, apparently from the heavy anchor waggling back and for during an uncomfortable Sound crossing last April. Since (recently) replaced with the large AG size, which is actually a bit too large but will probably work OK once I get an additional spacer installed for the adjustment mechanism. (A medium size from Mantus would probably be nifty, but they don't make one...)

OK, More, point taken of our use of imperial instead of metric, but you have to admit it takes a superior intellect to keep it all together in imperial. 😊

Now, when are you guys going to quit using commas where a proper decimal belongs?

o yes. without phone calculator american trade and industry is gone,20 GDP drop overnight. American official measurement
Size of my lot ,like a football field (o yes so it could be anywhere between 4050 and 10800 m²), for water Olympic swimming pool (**** how normal person know what volume is Olympic pool PS hi don't say temperature )
Buttload= 6 seams, or 48 bushels, equivalent to 384 gallons
slug = 14.594 kg

I receive 1/4 of 5/36 slug black coala, how many country pounds is this, and how many butload I need

It's not that complex. It's on a base of 16 rather than a base of 10. Then, those fractions that can be reduced, are reduced.

1/16
2/16 (1/8)
3/16
4/16 (1/4)
5/16
6/16 (3/8)
7/16
8/16 (1/2)
9/16
10/16 (5/8)
11/16
12/16 (3/4)
13/16
14/16 (7/8)
15/16
