Hello Gents, What would a spare lehman 120 be worth?* A local marina repowered their launch and they have the lehman 120 available.** Would it be worth it to buy it for parts? Thanks, Tom*

    120 Lehman overheating

Guys, A quick follow up question. Anyone know where I can get paper gaskets for the jabsco pump seperately? I had to a gaskets from the second kit I had as well as some sealer on the R&R of the impeller. So now I'm shrot a gasket for the second kit. I'd also like to get some spares in case...

    Calibrating Tachs

Tanks FF and David, I'll check the tachs for DIP switches and also determine what type of alternator I have. Good tips! Tom

    Calibrating Tachs

If I turned the adjustment all the way down the tachs would still read 1000 RPM at idle whiile the actual RPM was about 550. Since I could not get them to read any lower I just calibrated them so they would read exactly twice (2X) the actual RPM. So, I am looking for a way to reduce the signal...

    Calibrating Tachs

This topic came up on my "overheating" post.* (Which was all resolved with the impeller replacement). I picked up an inexpensive photo tach to*calibrate my teleflex/morse tachs.* I located the calibration adjustment screw(s) on the back of the gauges...problem is they were already "dialed down"...

    120 Lehman overheating

Update... Replaced the impeller today. It had 4 blades broken off and another 2 cracked, so this was definitely the culprit. There is no active drip from the exhaust elbow. Just a stain. Picked up a IR thermometer gun and having some fun with it. The trans runs at 138 degrees. Ordered a...

    120 Lehman overheating

Marin, I replaced all the gauges with new Teleflex/Morse units 3 years ago.* The tachs*have never been*properly calibrated.* I have not been able to figure out how to do this.* Let me know if you know how.* I believe that I'm running ~1600 RPM @ 7 knots.* Boat is ~18,000 lbs, is properly...

    120 Lehman overheating

Another quick question; I'm trying to order the impeller, is the original model number for the Jabsco pump 5850-0001? The boat is a 1981 35 CHB tri cab with a 120 Lehman. As far as I can tell, the Jabsco part number for the impeller is either 1210-0001 (neoprene for water only) and 1210-0003...

    120 Lehman overheating

Yes the 4# cap is new this Spring.** It's made in Mexico and seems inferior to*the "old" one I took off.* I'm assuming the "guts" (spring and gasket) are good though.

    120 Lehman overheating

TG, On the "where" question, it overheated and spewed out the 4# pressurized *cap, ending up in the bilge. On my cruise after I refilled the cooland and rechecked everything, it ran at 190 for*an hour @ 7 knots and I found no leaks at the circulating pump or any hose connections.* Also...

    120 Lehman overheating

Opened the petcock and filled the expansion tank. No air or bubbles just coolant bleeding out. So I'll cross that one off the list. So much for the easy fix So, I'm down to replacing the imnpeller and checking the oil cooler for obstruction. What temps do you guys get on a 120 Lehman?* As...

    120 Lehman overheating

Thanks Kevin-John, I'm pretty sure I could handle the repair, and was ready to dig into it today, but I didn't want to chance incapacitating the boat on the mooring for lack of parts/tools/expertise. I will watch and learn whe I get a mechanic here. The belt is tight and driving the...

    120 Lehman overheating

Thanks Guys! Marin that's a particularly comprehensive response! Notes: Gauges were reading around 210at a high, maybe 230 when I reached home port and temp did not come down at idle (hope I didn't damage engine) I was cruising at 6-7 knots which is normal, tachs read 2500 RPM at this speed...

    120 Lehman overheating

I was out for a cruise today and the*120 lehman*appeared to be running hot.* The gauges were reading about 210 but when I dropped the rpms*down for awhile it cooled to 180.* I*just had a lot of electrical work done so I thought the different reading might be a result*of the rewiring.* *In any...
