    Wanted: WTB 42 GB Motoryacht

Gb 42/46 The first 46 GB's appeared in I believe 1985. This was a stretched 42 so it shared the same beam, etc.. They only built a few of these (10?) and they were the "skinny 46's". Then GB made the 46 its own true mold which was wider, deeper, etc.. When they started building those 46's...

    Wanted: Looking for a boat

The term "Trunk cabin or Trunk style" is quite popular down here on the gulf. Example: A Grand Banks Classic is a trunk cabin boat while a GB Europa doesn't have the trunk cabin aft since it is basically a sedan styled boat with flybridge overhangs. It's the cabin area which is raised above the...

    Single screw 44' DeFever

I am not saying a special order single engine boat has never been built. I can say though that I have been around these boats for many years and have never seen a single screw 43, 44, 48, 49 Cockpit or 49PH ever.

    Single screw 44' DeFever

If you look into that listing you will see that the text goes on to mention the "twin" Lehmans.... it was a typo that he showed it as a single screw boat.

    Defever 41

Here is a pic from a new 2014 DF50 Cockpit. On this boat (which is a different hull from the 44/49s) on the inboard side it is 46" from the top of the chest down to the hull, 6" less on the outboard side. The surface of the water on the inboard side is about 30" down to the hull. I don't...

IIRC, it's title 14, section 89 of the US Code that gives the Coast Guard the ability to (SEASII) Search, Examine, Arrest, Inspect, & Interrogate.

    Arthur DeFever's Most Popular Boat

The 48 DeFever built by CTF Marine (and a last few hulls built by Pocta) in my opinion is a wonderful design. It's easy to say why is the aft trunk cabin in the way, etc... but the fact is that this design allows you to have a 48', 3 stateroom boat with two full heads and a huge engineroom. On...

    Chartering a 45' Northwest Trawler

I'm not familiar with the Northwest 45. Is it a foreign built boat? If so how does that work with chartering? I know you can do it because I see GB's in charter service but don't you have to seek some type of approval? I look forward to the info, thanks.

    43 vs 44 Defever

Correction: The 43's did have a cored hull. The 44's are solid glass. It's my understanding that the 43's were originally built at a yard very near the CTF yard and then CTF bought out that yard.

    43 vs 44 Defever

The 43's were built in a different yard, Sen Koh I believe. The 44's were better built and they came out of the CTF yard originally and later Pocta. The 44 has now been retired and the very similar 45 (16' beam - harder chines) takes its place. Neither have cored hulls.

Looking at Buying a Used Grand Banks 42

The British Leyland engines are rare in pleasure boats in the U.S. (elsewhere too?) I knew a person that had GB 46 No. 1 and it was hard to find parts for it. I think his were 200hp turbos.
