    Winter Boat Cover

I bought the cover for my Hatteras 53 eight years ago and couldn't be happier with it. At the time it cost around $5K and I'm sure it'll be quite a bit more now, but having to spend $2500 each year on shrink-wrap didn't make sense. My frame is made from 2x4 and is connected with custom made...

water tanks Helmsman 38E. Cold weather storage preperation

I have 2 connected water tanks as well on my Hatteras 53. The interconnection comes off the bottom of the tanks, so there has been no issue with filling them from a single fill connection. I was able to "tee" a drain line with valve off that interconnecting line and run it to the shower sump to...

    Online Vendors, Canadian Purchases

I'm Canadian as well and I can agree with a lot of comments already made: 1) Best is to put the stuff on the boat before you bring it up to Canada 2) If you have to ship things up, use USPS. There may be a small service charge and the approx. 12% or 13% local taxes, depending on the province...

No, that wasn't me. I had to look twice at the picture, but mine has a radar arch and a slightly different Bimini top.

    Newbie from Canada

I brought her up from New York State through the Trent Severn Waterway and had to lower the radar unit to get her under one of the bridges. Other than that no problems. I've also had her north of here into Georgian Bay with no problems. Going over Big Chute Lock was an interesting experience...

    Newbie from Canada

Well, she's 1984 vintage. Very solid boat and easy to handle. She has lots of room and is laid out very well. As with all boats, there is always something to do on her. She has 8V71 DD's. I usually cruise her around 9 knots. She has a bow thruster and stabilizers. I find the swim platform too...

    Newbie from Canada

LOL Yeah, it's a little rocky up here. I keep the Boat in Orillia on Lake Simcoe, which gives me easy access to the Great Lakes or the St. Lawrence, whichever way I want to go. Thanks for everyone's welcome.

    Newbie from Canada

Newbie here from Ontario Canada. Don't have a trawler but have a Hatteras, which I cruise like a trawler. I'm interested to learn from the other side of the spectrum and look forward to exchanging information. Great Forum!
