SF to Seattle in a 1977 53 ft. wood trawler

I just googled the Crab Trap Free Lane and see that they have updated the lane location as of 2023 . As Weebles said, I have no idea how well crabbers adhere to the coordinates but it seems risky to their livelihood to put traps where the tub boats are running.

SF to Seattle in a 1977 53 ft. wood trawler

I did the trip south maybe 15 years ago and plotted the course to stay on "the crab trap free lane". Guess they would still have it and except for crab trap "floaters" there were no active traps. I also used the thick cruising guide that covered each port and any dangers getting into them. This...

    Thinking of Downsizing, Options?

Same solo cruising situation Hi - I'm kinda in the same situation with solo cruising half the time or more. I owned a 43' PH trawler when my wife was with me but being widowed now I mostly travel alone. Sold that and bought a 29' Ranger Tug. Nice boat but just too narrow and crowded for me and...

    Aspen C 90 and North Pacific 36

I actually looked at that boat last week as well as a much used one in Seattle. This boat shows well but it has one major drawback for me that I have to resolve in my mind. To service/check engine fluids you need to break down the dining table and pull it out. Broker and I did it but it was a...

    Aspen C 90 and North Pacific 36

No, same cruising in Northwest. Have driven several NP 36's and they are nice boats with most of the amenities I've been used to. The Aspen C90 is something I've always liked and thought this is my chance to own one. I'm in the process of selling my 43' trawler and want a boat I can now single...

    Buying a Pacific Trawler

Looking for newer Pacific Trawler Jay - I joined about a year ago when I said I was interested in buying another one (owned hull # 47) in next few months. Actually would like a 2002 or 2003 if one becomes available. Only see a 2000 available now at Waterline but their screwed up 'Boatshed"...

    Wanted: Pacific Trawler 2002-2003

Looking for 2002 or 2003 Pacific Trawler, 34' American Tug, 37' Nordic Tug. Currently trying to keep cost below $200 K. Located in Northwest but if price is right don't mind shipping a boat from anywhere. Actually looking for a single diesel engine trawler with pilothouse, center queen, separate...

    PT40 Mast & Boom Capacity

Just joined yesterday but have a question on your post. First, is the boat pictured the one you're talking about? I owned a Pacific Trawler (# 47) mfg in Belingham, WA in Nov 2001. About six months after it was built they added a "compression" post on the corner of the galley counter because of...

    Pacific Trawler Owners Information

New Member to Pacific Trawler site Hi - been a while since I talked to other PT people but look forward to it. Owned Hull # 47 from 11/2001 to 4/2006, spent 12 months cruising the Great Loop, chartered my boat (Wand'rin Star) in LaConner, WA. and really enjoyed it here in Pacific Northwest...
