    I am going with chemical stripper. I was quoted 2100 to do a soda blast in Victoria bc. I never started yet. I am going on the hard on March 15. Hopefully I will be up for a week or so. I will updated on how it works out.

    I am unsure if I have a barrier coat at the moment. I was looking at pettit brand. It apparently only requires 3 coats instead of 6.

    Just keep the varnish inside a warm area. No need to microwave it. If you are really concerned, use a heat gun around the can for a while.

    I am varnishing now in the pnw. You Just have to watch the dew point. If the outside temp and dew point are 4 or 5 °C apart and weather is good ie no wind and the wood is prepped and dry go ahead and try a small project and see how it turns out. The dew point is key imo.

    Autopilot dockside setup complete. Now to get out for a sea trial for further set up. Have Ais contacts from my standard horizon 2200 vhf on my chart thrugj nnea 0183. Next is the quantum 2 radar install. The transducer install will happen at next haulout in early spring.

    All new raymarine setup. acu 400, ev1 sensor, p70r autopilot display and es series 128. Seatalk ng cabling. Just waiting on a backbone cable to connect the bus. Last purchase will be a new radar. Any recommendations on either a quantum 2 or hd color.

    I'm going to try epoxy first then varnish over the epoxy. I watch it on boatworks today on youtube. The results look really nice. I have lots of teak to try it on. So I will do some small projects to see how it holds. I am liking the varnish/ epifanes.
