Fuel polishing system on Nordic Tugs

Our Nordic Tug has a Volvo D6-280. Nice design on the fuel filter. A while ago we had water and crud in the fuel tank. Added a valve to the base of the primary Racor to bleed out water. Also did a lot of Racor filter element changes. After a few months the issue cleared out. For what it's worth...

    Photography especially while boating

Boating and Photograhy Concur with RSN48’s feeling about boating and photography going together. I got back into boating about the six years ago and did the same with photography. Both activities require skill, learning and an esthetic appreciation of the places we cruise and the beauty of...

    Puget Sound Boating

+1 on the idea of getting a "starter" boat and learning with it. Have to say a few years with a starter boat changed some of my earlier preconceived notions of what the ideal boat would be. Also, we are currently in the Everett Marina and we can get to our boat in 20 to 25 minutes. So when...

    Communications While Docking

We love our headsets. Easy sharing of information and observations as we are leaving and coming in. Only one problem noted, Sandra saying, under her breath, "shut up" as I start humming the Smurf song. Oh ,well. Nothing is perfect. Cheers,

    Diesel heater

We have an Espar forced air unit on our boat. it's a smaller unit. Has been very reliable and easy to use. Noise-wise, not too bad. I can sleep with it on. But then again, my significant other thinks a hearing aid is in my future. Cheers,

Ahoy - Aspiring to be a Nordic Tug owner

Welcome to the Forum! We spent a good portion of 2016-2017 looking at Nordic Tugs and American Tugs. Both are built in our area and both are wonderful boats. We are happy campers with the move. Cheers,

    PNW Buyer's Broker recommendation

We had an excellent experience with Gretchen Miles of Waterline Boats. She helped with both the selling of our last boat and the search for our new boat. Competent, honest and responsive. Best broker I've ever worked with. Her phone number is 425-231-0344 and email, Gretchen@waterlineboats.com...

This is disturbing! (new Cutwater boat)

This tread has made for very interesting reading. And I appreciate the energy that has gone into the comments shared about this very distressing experience. From a technical perspective I have nothing to add beyond what has already shared. My thoughts are about what Fluid Motion does with this...

    Changes at Nordic Tug

A little more on NT with Volvo engine Was reading thru this tread and saw a number of posts addressing Volvo engines and NTs. So here's my two cents. This past September we purchased an NT 32 with a Volvo D6-280 hp. The maintenance records were not complete when we did the purchase so we had 2...

Hello from the Port of Everett, WA - New Members

Well we did it! After cruising in the Pacific Northwest for four years we decided a trawler would be the right boat for us. Previously we had a 32 footer with twin diesels built by a large builder that used to be located in Arlington, WA. Used to drive by the boat plant on my way to the grocery...
