What size cutlass bearing do I have?

I was hoping someone on this forum has the same boat and knows the size. Sounds like I have to haul it out and measure it and hope I find it locally or I am paying for hard time while it ships.

What size cutlass bearing do I have?

Is there any way to know what size cutlass bearing I have by knowing the boat information and engine info? Or do I have to take it off and measure it first? I have: 1973 Gulfstar MarkII 36ft. Thanks for any help. Mike

    Who has lowest cost insurance?

UPDATE! Geico totally screwed me over. After giving me a quote and telling me to get a survey which I did and paid $500 for it they now tell me they don't insure boats like mine in Florida. Bastards!

    Help finding insurance in FL

I have called every insurance company I could find online in an attempt to get quotes. I have found that NO ONE will insure my 36ft trawler in SE Florida (or all of Florida from what I am told). Progressive is the only one that offered a very overpriced outrageously expensive quote of over...

Is it just me - haul out fees are crazy?

I've decided to pay the $2k which will likely be higher once we see other issues like blistering. Going for better paint too. This yard does not require insurance which is good since I can't find insurance for this boat. The lowest cost I found for insurance is over $3k. In the meantime, I put...

Is it just me - haul out fees are crazy?

I say we make all create a not-for-profit trawler yard. For DIY or labor. Who's got some land and money?

Is it just me - haul out fees are crazy?

Looks like this really is just a geography issue. I just think it's unreasonable to pay so much for such a simple manual labor job that any low wage person can do. Here paint alone is over $600 per gallon, primer is $100 and that's just one coat. I think I need to hit the gym get in better...

Is it just me - haul out fees are crazy?

I can't believe I have to drop $2k to paint the bottom of my 36ft trawler in Southeast Florida (palm beach). I tried the DIY route and it's pretty much the same cost, at least here in Palm Beach, FL and I really don't want to do the job. Between the haul out and block and storage costs and...

Do all sending units work with all gauges?

I'm replacing my old gauges with new VDO gauges. If I need to replace any of the sending sensor units on the engines (water, oil, etc). can I just use any sending units for VDO gauges? Or do I have to get specific sending sensors? I tried asking VDO but they only have a contact form and never...

    Who has lowest cost insurance?

Hi Larry, I don't plan on keeping it very long, maybe another 2 to 3 months. The cost down here in Palm Beach is much higher, like around $1k to haul and block plus re-launch plus surveyors here charge big money. I could be looking at $3k just so an insurance company can quote me. It's not...

No Broker. Progressive only takes boats up to 35ft and that quote is $4,400. I need to keep shoppping.

    Who has lowest cost insurance?

I'm surprised I can't find an existing thread on this topic. I'm shopping for new insurance and looking for one that does not require a haul-out survey. So far the lowest price I got is $1,800 from Freeway Insurance underwriting for American Express for my 36ft Gulfstar. Does anyone know of a...
