    Here's one

I always see people looking for budget cruisers and thought this one fit the bill. It's actually priced correctly. It's a typical oriental built boat for the vintage. If you don't see ads saying "decks removed, fiberglassed, new fuel tanks, new wiring, new, new, new"- then they're ALL alike from...

    Banking underway

Many banks have Auto Bill pay, so you don't have to mess with any bills at all. You set it up-the bills come in- you're given notice by email, they pay them, and that's it. Other than that cash is always good to have on hand. Those new $100.00 bills are pretty cool and can't yet be...

    National Liquidators?

National Liquidators IS ON Yachtworld as National Yacht Sales. Once the boats have been repoed though, they are LONG past "short sales". It's my experience that IF the person, or business who lost the boat doesn't fight ("friendly repossession"-the owner calls the bank first and gives it...

Think of it like the video's your seeing of Black Friday shopping today -and you want personal help over the phone or a email from a sales agent? AIN'T HAPPENING.. if you don't want it-others do. You notice on their website how many boats they've sold? OVER 30,000!!! I just noticed they only...

    National Liquidators?

I've never experienced ANY additional fees. On the other hand, if your friend had a boat shipped (which is a majority of their business-oversea's sight unseen) somewhere- then of COURSE there will be fee's for moving the boats to the port, prepping, or loading onto trucks. It's pretty simple...

    Beginnings of the dream!

My philosophy has been "If young and have your health why waste your life working? Do it when you can, it's easy to get more money, impossible for more time".

    National Liquidators?

Talk about a day late...how about 4 years too late. You've missed the Repo boom here in Florida-although I hear it's still ongoing up north. Back in the hey day, they were selling over 500 boats a year from 3 different locations just in Ft. Lauderdale. There were some diamonds hidden in all the...

Upholstery recommendation Orange Beach AL area

I like to buy my fabrics by the roll at local Fabric Houses, then take the fabric and the cushions to a auto upholstery shop (Pensacola has many) and tell them it came out of a trailer. Never mention boat. My 2 cents. And if you have a nice car- borrow a beater from somebody.

    Storm Damaged Vessels

+1 for the surveyor to do a pre-survey. In regards to storm damaged boats- THE place you really need to look out for them, is inland on the river systems all the way up into Ontario. Local buyers in Hurricane area's know to ask the right questions. Those buyers up in Pittsburgh, or on the Great...

    Older Aluminum Hulls, General Question

Here's a rare aluminum yacht! Denison Yacht Sales (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) Other than being a tad narrower, tad deeper, and a tad taller than what I prefer-this looks like one cool yacht!

    Planing vs Displacement Hull

YOU WIN. It's possible the vessel I was cruising on which had the Munroe books onboard was was a reproduction of Medowlark. This was back in 78. Could had sworn the owner said it was a Munroe design. She was named Greta, it was 40', had lee boards, free standing unstayed masts. She was a...

    Detroit 6v92 series

The 6V 92's are better than the 8V 92's, which are better than the 16V 92's! Better as in more reliable, less likely to blow up. Parts, and blocks are getting hard to find from what I've heard. Helpful household hint: put a Vollyball in the exhaust pipe to keep moisture(and salt) from blowing up...

    Broker ??'s

Big Jim. Take a look at a Carver Voyager 450. I think you'll find the headroom adequate as the berths too. Engine room is fairly spacious, easy to get about for a big dude. Prices are under $175k all day long. Out west you might even find them with decent gel-coat.

    Planing vs Displacement Hull

Considering I'm talking the 1870's and 80's- it's safe to assume I meant sailboats and the leeboards were for exactly the purpose they're named. Munroe designs were not "heavily ballasted"- they got their stability from the hull design and what ballast they had was internal. VERY shoal draft...

    Planing vs Displacement Hull

While cruising the Bahamas on a Commodore Ralph Munroe reproduction, I had the chance to read a book the owner had of conversations between Nathanael Herreshoff and Commodore Ralph Munroe, both noted yacht designers over similar subject of ballast and extreme deep draft vs shoal draft and...

    Pacific Northwest Boat

For what it's worth- it rains way more in Alabama than Washington State, so staying out of the rain isn't a concern solely for those in the PNW. The SE has the highest amount of rain fall. Get's rather hot too...and cold. Being able to operate from a climate controlled protected helm has...

Essentials for Bimini; what to bring

10 days in Bimini will feel like 10 years. You should be aware that about the time you are going to sleep, that this is when the Island comes alive, and the locals only have two speeds for running their high speed boats (with no lights of course) til the sun comes up- FAST and stop. "wake...
