    Have used it since 2003 and currently using Nobletech Odesy. Nobletech has several levels of programs and are used extensively in Alaska commercial fleets.

    Had a similar latch go bad. Took the latch off and the manufacture's name was stamped on the underside. I searched the name and found a replacement.

    Not all antifreeze is ethylene glycol. In my experience the 50/50 mixture works as well as 100%.

    One of the reason tapered threads leak is due to over tightening which will damage the threads. These threads should be tightened until they do not leak and a very little more.

    Our boat has a good working Jabsco and carries a Johnson pump and gear as a back up. This was an easy decision because a non working pump and the boat is then a no go. Plan to install the Johnson pump next spring.

    I like this engine. I owned one in a Duffy lobster Yatch and never had a problem. I suggest you ask the Cat dealer that maintained the engine about the engine. There may be a history of oil samples that will be helpful. Good luck with your project.
