The Eagle 53 is made by Transpacific Marine which has been building boats since 1969. They began by building sail boats and their first power boat was the Eagle 32 designed by Ken Hankensen. They also did the tooling for KK 42.

    Rocna's new Anchor????

Marin, the fins on the Boss function to right the anchor similar to the action of a roll bar on other anchors. The photos may be a little deceiving in that the fluke area of the 35 Boss is considerable. It is a little more than 20 inches from wing tip to wing tip. For those that would like to...

    Rocna's new Anchor????

Our boating area contains widely varied bottom types and therefore it is difficult to find one all purpose pick. We have experience with a 33 and 66 Bruce and both have found the Bruce rock. Also we have used Delta anchors with fairly good success. Our current boat has a 35 Boss and so far it...

    Rocna's new Anchor????

It appears the Vulcan is an imitation of the Boss which has been around for several years and has a solid record. With that said, why not just buy the proven Boss?

Depending on the boat, the removal of one engine may produce an inbalance problem that could be difficult to over come.

When will you pack it in?

The past few years the old body has been in noticeable decline. We boat in very remote areas and help is not instant. We thought about dropping the pick on dry land and live on the memories. Instead we sold the boat and downsized to one with much less maintance with fewer systems to worry about...

Rhonda, Rhonda a wee boat I'm fonda..

I too like Ken Hankensen's boats. He designed our little Eagle 32 which is similar to Rohnda. The Eagle carries about a foot more beam.

Our's is 19 inches above the water. Fortunately Weaver makes a step down davit that works well for the inflatable.

How have you used rescue tape?

I have never seen rescue tape. Putting rescue tape over mouth, is that a use? Rescue tape looks a lot like duct tape.

I like the variable pitch propellers used in Norway. Very smooth and excellent control of forward, reverse and speed.
