Pre-purchase a 34 Mainship Pilot, the shaft has about 1/16" play. My 30 Mainship Pilot has no play. What is acceptable? Thanks Greg

We found a 34 MS Pilot that we went into contract on. Sole searching we realized that diving and fishing is a higher priority now than cruising later. We will probably be moving to a flybridge in 2-3 years when I am allowed to retire.

Our transom is solid fiberglass below the water line. Pretty sure where my bolts is also solid fiberglass. Greg

The heads to the bolts had a square washer welded to the bolt on the inside. The one by the scupper can't push in due to the scupper. Must have been inserted before the deck. No room under there.

Swim Platform I just pulled off my swim platform for repair. A pain holding the bolt head/washers that where probably embedded in the hull. Two spun the others held. The platform was attached by probably 5200 that I had to cut thru to get platform detached from the boat. It really attached...

If you want something done right, do it yourself! Added benefit is to teach your wife a broader vocabulary and she gets payback when you drag her out into rough seas.

Hard Top Add On I have a 30 Pilot with an custom hard top. They over built the hard top and I believe added too much weight. I have added lead under the engine, single 230 hp. The soft sides are nice for protection and ventilation.

For my freeze, I tried to run but tripped a GFI. It wasn't the same GFI that I was using when I froze. Next time down, I will bring a meter and check. If there is a freon port that is easy to open, I will check for pressure. I didn't notice any oil which is encouraging. Maybe I lucked out.
