    Anchor Chain Knotting up

The problem of chain castling in the locker got me thinking. How about putting a small traffic cone in the bottom of the locker, so that all the chain would be directed to the outside? I haven't had this problem (yet) or tried the solution, just sharing the idea for critical comments.

    Espresso Machines

+1 on the Breville Barista Express I haven't moved mine on board the new boat yet, but I've been using it in the house for three years and it produces excellent shots, as well as great steamed milk.

    Annapolis in the Summer?

Something to consider is making a list of the more interesting locations and spending a couple of days visiting them by car, plus driving to and from the necessary work location(s) during rush hour from one or two of the more distant places. It might help you decide on a location or two.

Well gee, thanks for the offer, but you're just a wee bit late to the party. I've had mine for over a month now. And I placed the order back in March.

    3 strand Nylon service life

The factors that most affect line are UV exposure, ozone, chemicals and wear. Unless the spool was stored badly for the first year, you should have essentially a new spool of line. If it was just exposed to the atmosphere/sunlight for the first year, you could strip off the outer wraps of line...

    Buffing Gelcoat

Back in the days when I polished the bottom paint on my racing sailboat, I would suspend the buffing machine from a bungee cord secured to one of the rails above the deck. The bungee carried most of the weight, and all I had to do was direct the machine where I wanted it. Helped a lot.

    Park Bench

I'd like to spend some time with an old co-worker. He was the "custodian" at a motorcycle shop where we both worked, and had been there since it opened. One of the most dedicated and lovable people I've ever known. He was a reasonably high functioning man with Down's syndrome, and his world view...

That's a very nifty rig! I can see that it would also be great for keeping the forward hatch open in bad weather at the dock for ventilation.

You bring up some valid points. Obviously the "Tug" branding is just that, and in no way suggests that these are tugs. My top speed is 18 kts. And yes, it does come in handy. This isn't a planing boat, but will always be in displacement (or semi-displacement) mode. Like many things in life, this...

    Ahoy!

After many decades of lusting after various trawlers at the Annapolis Boat Shows, and quite a bit of research, I was able to narrow this choice down to a Ranger Tug R31-S. Since a good bit of my boating will be single or short handed, I wanted something reasonably agile (bow and stern thrusters)...
