    Sarca Excel

Posting a few photos of the Excel showing some of the design and construction details. Overall, I'm impressed with the build quality. It's a rather complex design which has been well executed. The Bissalloy shank is visually very distinct from the rest of the anchor. Mike

    The best boating season

Early to mid-November is about as late in the season we got on the sailboat. Hoping for much later and earlier with the trawler.

    Trawler or sailboat?

The sailors (and yes we used to sail) always bring up the fuel cost for a power boat and that wind is free. Sails, however, are not free and need to be replaced. Though you can keep sailing with your crappy worn out sails until they shred. __________________ -Jennifer Wholeheartedly...

    Surveyor Recommendations

Survey for insurance and finance aside, and assuming you are a boat vs yacht owner, I agree with BoboftheNorth as it applies to older vessels. I suspect he was making a point with regards to ongoing maintanence issues. As a "boat" owner, I've hands-on retrofitted a number of old/tired boats...

How to find a good yacht broker

Thanks Ted. As a transitioning sailor, it took me many months of soul searching and power boat research to figure out what would work for me. Mike

How to find a good yacht broker

Agree as a recent VA Yacht Broker customer/buyer. Which is also important to you as a seller regardless of which broker you choose. I would use them to sell my sailboat, but they specialize in power only. Mike

    Pacific Trawler Owners Information

My appologies. I sense some contention within this builder's forum. In the future, I'll refer to my boat as a Pacific Trawler rather than the abbreviated PT. Mike

    Pacific Trawler Owners Information

New member to the forum and to trawlers. Recently purchased the 1999 PT37 named Carolina based out of Elizabeth City, NC (originally Blue Goose). We brought her up from Chesapeake, VA last week to the Annapolis area. As transitioning sailors, I must say we really enjoyed the projection offered...
