    Cat 3208 Natural exhaust risers

The riser is just like the one that would have been on your engine only it's in a remote location. It takes hot exhaust in one side, adds the raw water exiting the engine and cools it so a rubber exhaust hose can handle it. The engine raw water hose is routed to the remote riser. By "remote"...

    Pacific Trawler, 37' Bow Thruster

Thursters typically have a shear pin (cheap) that breaks if the load exerted by the motor on the gearbox (expensive) becomes excessive. Replacing the pin is probably easy but the question would remain as to why it broke in the first place. Excessive fouling of the props might be the issue or...

    Cat 3208 Natural exhaust risers

    Boatdiesel vs. SBMAR Forum

    Marine Air Conditioners

As you might imagine, we run our 16 kbtu Marine Air Vector Compact (circa 2008) quite a bit down here in La Paz. The rust in the pan is not from the tray but from condensate water eating away at the base of the compressor. Why? Because the tray drains are not low enough to allow all water to...

    Interesting boats

This is my first post so thought I'd make it interesting (not sure my Tolly 34 qualifies though it is nice). This boat has been moored on the Multnomah Channel off the Columbia River for the last year or so. Looks like it's had a hard life. Not captured is the fact it seems to have a very...
