    Hi

Hi Rick. Welcome to TF. Please do tell us a bit more about yourself and current plans. :flowers:

It seems I am updating everythink but the kitchen sink. Well here goes

Sorry to say this, after you've wrecked the existing sink, but actually, it's quite a decent size. I would have kept it and done what Comodave suggested. :D Dual sinks are a must have in my view. :thumb: :hide::flowers:

New Member from Port Stephens, Australia

Welcome to TF. The Roberts designs have a good reputation, for sure. If you don't get some response on here, then googling the Bruce Roberts name might come up with an owner's website where the info you are after is more likely to be had. But there is probably someone on here who can help a bit.

    1975 34’ MT Sedan

As others have said - welcome to TF. The wee beastie you just bought, dating from that time, was quite rare. Way back in 2002, I also bought a Clipper (CHB) 34 with a hull laid in 1975, here in Australia, almost all CHB type 34s were tri-cabins, with an aft cabin, but beggar-all cockpit. My...

Hendo's Randall 35 Cray Boat complete rebuild, Perth, Western Australia

Well, well, indeed welcome back, Hendo Matt. I guess it's all been said really. So good to see Solstice afloat. Any thoughts of saving hard and buying her back - at least asking the owner for first dibs if he wants to sell..? Wouldn't be surprised if so - but understand fully if not...

    Greeting from Sydney Australia

Yes, as others have said - that is one very rusty CQR/Plow - possibly a knock-off - certainly not worth re-galvanising. Sell it for scrap and as Bruce suggested, look seriously at getting a Sarca Excel of appropriate size. SARCA Excel Anchor - Anchor Right Australia

    Coronial Inquiry-Sinking of Eliza 1

I did think about that - back when I had Lotus. Because she had what I considered a good idea re fuel. The return flow just went back as far at the main separator filter. The tanks were interconnected by a line which was just fuel-line sized, so allowed the tanks to level up over time, and...

Hi, kr9392, FWT has given you good advice. Many years ago now, I refurbished the interior of a 1975 CHB 34, and had to do similar to what you have ahead of you. The boat had mahogany veneer on the walls - some of which was so stained with leakage I had to replace it, the for'd cabin being one...

    Trawler Forum App

I've always done that for TF, both on phone or tablet. Used the browser rather than the app. Although much prefer to use the laptop. I hate apps..!

    Cruising realities

My boat had this issue solved in an extremely simple way. The tanks were connected by a T-junction, so I could fill at the access point on the side that was nearest the pump, (and therefore visible, and the hose always reached), and the fuel automatically equalised while that was in progress...

    Don of Moonstruck

What more can one say. Very sad news. In case they have not heard, I will advise Pilou and her husband of this, because I know Don and his wife visited them several times, but the above are not active on here at present.

Still working on the Tung Hwa Senator refurb

Well done. Very nice. Knowing how things looked when you first took her over, you've done wonders. :thumb: Now make sure to take some time to go out and actually enjoy the fruits of your labours a s a p..! :flowers:

    Vale Simi 60

That's quite a shock, Brian. I rather liked the way he posted, and the content was usually sensible and useful. He will indeed be missed. I hope his first mate Carolyn will be ok, and can adapt to a substantially land-based life - at least for now. I can't see her piloting that large vessel...

Yes, welcome to the forum. By the way, do not hesitate to use a translator app for more complicated thoughts. I do this when exchanging emails with a French friend. eg...took me 1 minute.. Oui, bienvenue sur le forum. D’ailleurs, n’hésitez pas à utiliser une application de traduction pour les...

    My new bifacial solar panel

Marco, it appears to me that one other advantage in this type of panel on a boat, as opposed to eg mine, mounted on my house roof, is that they might work quite well mounted vertically. Especially if mounted where nothing shaded them, and they could perhaps be rotated to optimise the angle, and...

    New Dutch guy

Great pics Marino, so you pick things up very quickly. Some find posting pics on TF somewhat challenging initially. That is a very nice vessel indeed. In fact it looks like a small ship in many ways. :thumb:
