I have about two inches below the pan and stringers on either side. Installation alone will be a challenge never mind removal of paint. Wondering if anyone has had success with mounting to a painted surface.

The Zerostart installation instructions are pretty clear about removing paint from the oilpan for an install direct to metal. Has anyone installed directly to a painted surface? Any ill effects on performance?

No problemo. I realize that the newer models have wifi, however, that only seems to be used for uploads. Live-streaming seems to require a USB link. I share your frustration in trying to find something simple for this particular application.

Ask the Google about pontoon benches or pontoon boat seats. It will open up a world of possibilities. My understanding is that they are available in modular form and can be assembled to suit your space. May be a cheap and cheerful solution for you (or at least an easy solution).
