    PNW bareboat charter companies

Not at all for cruising. Moonfish is right, September is great and many out here are year-round boaters. I just had a quick look at some of the fleets though and they are still heavily booked for Sept. Pick a place, time and start enquiring.

If you are referring to Gaston specifically, I can't address that but, in general terms, half this forum could make that jump. Well a couple anyway.

    Looking For a Capstan

I've got a ex-commercial pal in Kelsey Bay who just had a bunch of plumbing relocated from a leg and arm to his chest. He's gonna be pretty bored until September so I told him I didn't want to talk to him until he finds us one. See what he does, unless he's happy not talkin' to me.

Heard good things about them in Sidney and up your way. Vancouver, not so much. While I got you, what do you know about Oceanside Resort Motel in Powell River on the Sunshine Coast? Gotta come up and plant my brother so looking for a quiet pet friendly one nighter.

Bill, Where, when and for how long. ie; if you are looking at coastal BC then Powell River or Courtenay could be better choices than WA State. Also, getting a bit time tight for this year, I would think. Here's another good one; CHARTERS - NW Explorations

That would be cool. Maybe hook up with a nice man named Tom at the same time. Hey, maybe even get some flowers and crank the Mammas and Pappas to see if we can entice KOliver away from the commune for a bit. Not sure if Sidney cold handle it.

What is going on? Ok, I know June can be iffy here on the coast but this is ridiculous. 45F to 75F in 24 hours ( I used old skool numbers for the vast majority here who have yet to catch up) and flat arse calm to 6 footers. BC interior wracked with flooding and if the movement continues...

Same here and for new students, ranges were almost as difficult to grasp as 60 D Street; until we went out at night. It must have been a bit of a chore in the olden days, without all the fancy gadgets, to place those rigs. BP (before people) the eastern end of Burrard Inlet (Vancouver) was...

Here are a bunch of links to chase, most right here on TF and as usual you may need a pair of boots to wade through some of the crap. In it all though, there are some years past owners who, if you can track them down, might tend to give honest assessments. Owners group. Don’t know how active...

Jeff; if you get this in time, you are right about depth. I didn't check the tides yesterday because I knew you had. Last night I talked to buddy who keeps his boat in Pedder for the summer. He checked and said "he'll be fine, not much tide in there today. Next weekend, different story." A...

Thanks Dave. I've been on a 9 month marathon, 1 rickety old man shuffle at a time. I was in there last year on a big whaler (28'?) out of Peddler Bay. Skipper does it all the time with little attention to tide.

Right up the gut. You’ll be fine. Datum is Lowest NORMAL Tide. Sooke = 1.9 meter = just over 6 feet. (edited for lousy phone eyes) You’ll be fine. Run with minimal wake which, in your boat, should be dead slow or flat out. You’ll be fine.

    American Tug 395, hull #12...

A while back when you were lamenting the fact it was sitting somewhere for 11 day, I thought sure, they are busy with scrapers and pressure washers getting rid of all the grasshoppers and deerflies before you saw it. So, that brings me to why wasn't she shrink wrapped for the cross continent...
