    The long way home

A while back, I talked about an old friend and the boat Argonaut II. The owner was an eccentric with too much money. Anyway, before the Argonaut, in the late 60s he bought a real junk in China and shipped it here. It came on deck. The cradle and all the hold downs were large solid teak...

mramoo, you know as much as me. It's a picture from a listing of a boat I've yet to see.

    The long way home

Not to second guess but more to clarify. New Westminster is on the Fraser. Squamish is up Whistler way. If I had my druthers, I would try to avoid Squamish. Too bad she can't be dropped (sorry, bad choice of words) at Roberts Bank (CA) which is a stone's throw from Point Roberts (US) and...

    Monk 36 purchase

You can join the Monk group without being an owner. They will be happy to take your money. You just have to become an owner within a certain timeframe to retain the membership. There are people on here, past and present owners, that can answer your questions just as well. There should be a...

Here, here. That comment can clearly go in the asinine bucket. Joking or not it does the process no good and doesn't help the fine character () of this forum. FF, you don't know what you don't know. Come back in a couple hours.

Naw, I wouldn't start that. We have a victim here who is currently out 9 grand. Start poking a stick in the hornets nest and broker boy says "screw it, sue me." Let it play out a bit. Things are going on in the background.

Sadly, Mr. Brokerman can play this out as long as he likes and there is nothing short of litigation to resolve it. Oh sure, there is a "professional" body that has a disciplinary committee but really, what can they do? A fine, suspension, removal? Not without a lot of wasted investigation...

Neilson Yacht Brokerage at the same address. 1 employee, guess who. AMG and Little Red Wagon are separate addresses though.

    Monk 36 purchase

I don't know about Dalesman but I object to having to pay money to a "club" just to ask questions of a fellow boater. I got all the answers I needed through online research, reaching out to owners and tracking down the Canadian builder. Besides, how many of them are going to give you the bad...

It is deposited to "Advanced Marine Group Trust Account #----". As owner of AGM and the licensee, if he doesn't have signing authority then that's another reason to question his cred. I love this stuff and while I know it's poor Mr. 89's money and he is sweating bullets, I still think it will...

    Monk 36 purchase

The Monk 36 is a very popular boat that retains good value and there are some proud Monk 36 owners on here. Over 250 were launched. That particular boat was built in Taiwan, not Nova Scotia and having looked at several listings on it, I can't justify the asking price, other than it being well...

I just did some digging and WA has Vessel Dealers Licenses which is basically a business license. No governing body other than a yachting association discipline committee. The wild, wild west.

No big deal. Just another delay and another potential strike against the friendly broker. Possible scenarios: Could be another buyer and that's why the previous run around. If there is a cooked up "counter" 89 walks. If they have accepted his off he has some interesting choices.
