The racor gauge will only show a vacuum if the motors are running for a while. Sounds like you either have a blocked/restricted vent or pickup tube. You might try forcing some air back down into the tank from the line connecting the tank to the racor see if you hear lots of bubbles.. Also if...

No experience with those places - no fuel dock you can probably live with, but do they have a pump out (they often go hand in hand)? Your boat can hold a lot more fuel then sewage, so pump out for a live aboard would be real important for me anyways.

Almost every case I do agree with you. This was the exception! Bat crap all over the place = wife would not be happy.. Yes pointing that out helped quite a bit for the no bat side.. My point is Youtube often looks good on the screen, but at least experience before you buy in.

Looks like short at the boats shore plug right? The shore power supply breakers should have tripped - if they are bad/stuck from corrosion ext. that's the likely reason the wires melted as much as they did I think. Glad you are ok!

I have one with 2K hours they run great. Yeah those hours are non issue if the motors are good. Boat is really comfortable nice ride. Typical issues do occur with these boats like others windows, tanks, teak decks if it has them. Post some pics!
