    Boat ,Home and Work

Get rid of all the excess stuff, define needs vs. wants, rent the house and live on your boat. You get the income from the home and the expenses become a write-off. You always have a place to move back to. The key is to redefining what you need.

Who started this again? Oh, Wxx3... that's OK, it's always a fun time. Now let's get to guns on board too. :-)

    Live Aboard???

Boats love to be used daily. It's the boats that sit around NOT being used that have more problems.

    Krogen 42 and Stabilizers

They do roll, but it's a slow, comfortable roll. That being said, everyone I know that has stabilizers loves them. You have two choices, active or passive. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Active only work underway but can break down and require maintenance. Passive work underway or at...

    Mail/permanent address question

UPS Store is great! You get a physical address, forwarding services if you need it. They can accept any kind of shipment, including truck freight, and can sign for your packages if needed. That's what I've used for years.

    What Kind of Flare?

Once I saw a demo of SOLAS flares vs. regular 12 gage, I always have SOLAS on board. Handheld and parachute. However, because they are so expensive, I keep the 12 g up to date to meet USCG requirements. I only replace the SOLAS at about twice their stated lifespan. They have always worked at the...

    Med-Yacht

Yes, but not straight across. Kinda curved with the coast. I think max distance was 200 nm. The boat I was in had to fuel daily. Nice trip. Only stayed at a dock one night because of weather.

Holding tank - No Y Valve?

My boat doesn't have a Y valve. have two separate pck up tubes, one goes to the macerator and the other goes to the deck pumpout. Ths causes no end to consternation to the folks nspectng the boat. To pump overboard, you have to open a thru hull valve, turn a breaker on and turn a keyed power...

    Rain-X

You sound like you're quoting an MSDS from anhydrous ammonia, not the regular household cleaning product. As a degreed chemist, I guess I have to question YOUR intelligence. You don't seem to understand that the comparison is pretty valid. Sulfuric acid is pretty dangerous stuff, and is formed...

    Blister Advice

The problem is not water or salt in the FG, it's uncured resin. The guy who washed every day with water has the right idea. The best way is to simply use a blowtorch, but for some reason yards these days don't like that process. I post cured mine with the HotVac system. Peeled, post-cured, then...

    Rain-X

You should be just as careful while cutting up onions. The fumes form sulfuric acid as a result of breathing, swallowing or skin contact, especially in the eyes. This chemical is very corrosive and damages cells in the body on contact. And be especially of that bad boy dihydrogen monoxide.

    Rain-X

Try ammonia to get it off. I've started using Rain-X windshield washer fluid in my truck and it works great! I got the bright idea to put some in a spray bottle and spray my boat windows down too. Easier and quicker than applying the classic Rain-X.

    What would you do?

I would have towed him. I've done it before and am comfortable doing it. I did have a guy I was helping bash my boat once by accident. I was disappointed that he didn't man up to fix the damage he caused, but hey... I'd do it again. Good Karma.
