    Teak Door is becoming unglued

The only photo we had on hand was from the iphone and that how it came out. Next time we need to use the camera. There is a strip of wood screwed into the base that holds the door. Once we took off the strip of wood the door could be pulled towards you and removed. It was easier than we...

Just an update - the door came out great.* It has been cetoled and you would hardly know there had been a repair. Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice.

Achilles LSI 96 with air floor - davit suggestion?

We have a 1986 Monk36.* The dinghy is an Achilles LSI96 with air floor and keel.* The motor is 6HP Yamaha 4 stroke.* We would like a recommendation for a reasonably priced davit system that enables us to keep the motor on the dinghy.* Any recommendations?

    Teak Door is becoming unglued

Thanks for the abundance of good advice. We bought a pipe clamp and mixed some epoxy and put it all together. Unfortunately we didn't read the West System tutorials on-line until after we applied the epoxy. We used a 1:1 type epoxy but it was more of a filler than an adhesive epoxy. Anyway...

    Teak Door is becoming unglued

Being new at this, we are a bit puzzled (actually a lot) with epoxy, resin, putty, adhesive and wanting to figure out what product to use and when. Is there a tutorial somewhere that will make it plain as day?

    Teak Door is becoming unglued

We can bring it together but leaving a slight gap. The boat is new to us so we are guessing that there was some water damage. We were wondering if we should be clamping it or something similiar after applying the epoxy.

    Teak Door is becoming unglued

One of our exterior teak doors has developed separation at the bottom, approx. 1/16". * We are only able to bring the edges together half way and there is still slight gap.* What would be an easy but good solution?*

Water in stanchions - how to rebed?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Just so I am clear, a small hole is drilled in the base of the ss stanchion? If so this would not work for us, I think, as the ss plate would be below the hole and that area would still collect water. Just to refresh, we have wooden hand and cap...

Water in stanchions - how to rebed?

We noticed a little puddle of water next to one of the stanchion plates on the teak cap rail.* We kept mopping it up and water would reappear.* So today we removed the stanchion and water gushed out.* How in the world can water get inside a hollow stanchion that is bedded to teak rails top and...

    Galley makeover ideas

We have a Monk36 with one of those corner lift out units in our galley. The PO put a false bottom as well as a wrap around ledge above the false bottom. There is space for containers on the ledge (ie pasta, flour, etc.). The false bottom and ledge is made of a lucite type material. Quite...

Type of caulking and bedding material

We are redoing our teak and have removed some pieces to refinish.* What product do we use when we reinstall the screws and bolts? There are lots of gaps between the teak trim and fiberglass.* After the teak trim is finished, what type of caulking should we use? We have teak trim along the...
