That's a bad place to lose power, if they were abeam of Flamborough head they had no chance of avoiding the rocks, the North sea is very unforgiving.

Thanks Marin, I just ordered 4 books from Amazon, didn't find the "radar" author you suggested but found something as good I think, "Adlard Coles Book Of Radar". That will give me plenty of material to study while I'm looking for a boat. Cheers Robbie

One for our Aussie members A Blonde was sent on her way to Heaven. Upon arrival, a concerned St Peter met her at the Pearly Gates. "I'm sorry," St Peter said; "But Heaven is suffering from an overload of goodly souls and we have been forced to put up an Entrance Exam for new arrivals to ease...

    Gearbox vs. Transmission?

In the UK we always say "gearbox" when referring to autos, unless talking about a "rare" automatic vehicle, when we will say it has "automatic transmission", although I left the UK 20 years ago, 99% of vehicles had "manual gearboxes", what you guys call "standard", so it's really just the...

Ping Mr Rt Firefly or others

Byu, Link doesn't work. Try copying the the link in Yachtworld again from the boats details page, not the search results, and re-post it. The first boat does look, as RTF say's "rough", I like to go straight to pics of the engine, that gives me a good idea of how well the boats been cared for...

    Perkins 4.236 injector woes?

At a guess I suspect the rust is the result of "cold fuel" versus "hot engine"= condensation, the number 4 looks the worst, I'm surprised it ran at all!!.

    Hello from Montreal

Hi Elwin, Yes I've seen dozens of single diesel Cape's for sale, they are mostly FG over wood, I assume they are built that way?, I need to decide on what length of boat I can safely handle on my own, as you can see from the pictures there's no tight spaces to squeeze into at my mooring, and as...
