I am disappointed too; I learned recently Nordhavn is not planning to attend. Well, the courses and people will still be great, and it will be fun to see the boats that are there.
I am glad you are coming!
Simpleinterest, we attended the Trawlerfest last January in Riviera Beach Florida and it was great. Wonderful courses, attendees, boats to tour. We can't wait for the Baybridge trawlerfest. We have each signed up for 3 different courses. We are very close to buying a boat in a few months and...
Hey thanks for input and information. I am sure the analysis is correct, but without house sale there will be no boat!
I loved the story in the Passage magazine this month about the couple who finally got their boat. I hope we are next.
I hope to see you all at the Fest!
The more, the merrier :)
My husband and I have just registered to attend the Trawlerfest in Maryland. We are taking 3 different courses each. We are still waiting to buy a Nordhavn 47 once our house sells. Anyone else planning to attend?
Alas, we are still waiting for the real estate to sell. Happily the market is really improving and we are getting showings.
We will drive to the Essex Trawlerfest - we can't wait! In the meantime we are enjoying "window shopping" for boats.
We hope to run into you both. We are still "window shopping" for our liveaboard trawler while waiting for our Maine real estate to sell. We are looking forward to taking some courses, checking out trawlers and meeting lots of new friends.
I am 61 and my husband is 69. I am retired and he is wrapping up his at home business. He will take some cases while aboard. We are waiting for our real estate to sell in Maine then going aboard, hopefully this summer. Can't wait.
Thanks everyone: its been great to get all the advice and expand the boat search. My husband is now interested in looking at 3 different boats, all suggested on TF.
We are both mulling over all the comments. This help is awesome.
We have taken forum advice and have expanded our search for a liveaboard trawler beyond just looking at Nordhavns.
We are intrigued by a 2008 Bering 55 steel trawler for sale in Maine (where we live).
I can find very few reviews or input about this kind of boat. Any thoughts out there? Thanks...
That is one nice boat!
We are eager for our house to sell; spring real estate market should start now that the snow is melting. I am busy studying for my basic boating course, test is later this month :)
I really appreciate all the thoughtful comments. We have expanded our search and look forward to those "sunset cruises". Sick to death of Maine winters!
You are right. There is no way we are going to get everything on the list.
I keep seeing a lot of price reductions in used trawlers so at least the prices are heading in our direction :)
Thanks BruceK and healhustler. We did get on some Kadey Krogens. We were very impressed except for the access and getting around the engine room. But the KKs are really nice!
Yes, with our limited budget, we must come up with a limited list:)
