    Mobile to chattanooga

Dave, Made trip from Gulf Shores to Florence AL about one month ago. Left Gulf Shores at 7am on Tuesday and arrived in Florence at 3pm on Sunday. We traveled hard but had strong down current and barge lock delays. Current should be better but you can expect lock delays. While I have not made...

Tapered wooden plugs, what, where, how?

During a recent survey, the surveyor showed me a tapered plug made of a soft rubber material, I.e., like a Nerf football. He recommended in that it would conform to any size hole. I believe made by Forespar.

Tennesse river info coming from mobile

Good luck. A lot of debris around fuel dock. We stayed in new section at Demopolis. Very nice but hike to office. Make sure they have golf cart at new section. Made Columbus next night, then Bay Springs, then Florence. All depends on luck at locks. Be safe and have fun.

Moonstruck, thanks for the good advise. We actually have a home in Gulf Shores and have been down for some of the upgrades. Having done some of the "ditch" before, we realize we are "going upstream" against the spring rains, but for insurance and personal reasons this is the travel window...
