    Olsson RS-8 Davit Installed

Hi All, I thought I'd share photos of my new davit system. My boat is a 39' Bayliner, model 3988. The Davit System is an Olsson RS-8. I have struggled with finding a good system for my Inmar 320R dinghy (http://www.inmarinflatables.com/v/vs...AR_320R-YS.pdf). It's 410 lbs. On the Bayliner...

    Immersion suit

If this ever comes up again, here are couple of things about survival suits to think about when buying used. 1: Zippers: We waxed our zippers every year in Alaska. The zippers, if neglected, will jam and if your zipper won't function, you're dead. So, make sure to give it a dry run. Actually...

    Displacement or Planing Hull?

Everyone: Thanks a bunch for all the great information and experience shares. As I said, I'm new to this forum, but so far I've been very impressed with the depth of knowledge, willingness to share, and the courtesy between members. Hard to find all three of those things on the Internet...

    Displacement or Planing Hull?

Greetings! I'm from Cordova, so I think we beat you on rain (but just by a little). I think the late 90s early 2000s Bayliners are often overlooked. Having now owned 3 of them they're really great boats. My only complaint was the the 38' was underpowered with the Hinos, but as long as you just...

    Displacement or Planing Hull?

    Nope! I've owned a 3870 Bayliner before the 2002 3988 Bayliner I own now. I also own a 1988 32' 3288 Bayliner that I keep in Alaska for Summer cruising, but never a 4788.

    Displacement or Planing Hull?

Hi All: I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I'm starting a conversation that has already been worn out. If I am, please just tell me where to look for the old thread. In the next 3-5 years the admiral and I will be moving onboard a boat for at least three months each Winter. We are 99%...

    anti fog solutions for windows?

Joy dishwashing soap. Take a drop or two on a dry, clean cloth and coat the inside of the window with it. Window must be dry and clean, too. Take another dry, clean towel and buff the heck out of it until it's clear. Voila. No more fog. Used this trick in Alaska for many years. Cheers, Dave
