    Wanted: 38-43' Trawler/Tug

I will be selling my 2009 Nordic Tug 37 next month once I close on a new boat. It's in pristine condition, located in Lake Champlain. Shoot me a note if you are interested tparrent88@gmail.com

    Cruising Lake Champlain

I moved my boat from CT up to Burlington last July. Fun, easy trip. Kingston was nice. The municipal dock is fairly loose so don't jump off the boat onto it or you will either swim or dance! I did quite the jig when I hooped onto it the first time! Location can't be beat. Troy has a new...

Throwing a wake and those buzzing bass boats

In terms of going 7 knots, my NT 37 will cruise quietly and comfortably at that speed and I don't mind doing 7 or even slower nearly all the time and you are right that my wake is inconsequential beyond 50 feet or so at that speed. This weekend, I was racing sunset after being held at the locks...

Throwing a wake and those buzzing bass boats

My Nordic Tug throws a large wake when at full speed of 12-14 knots. Most of the time I travel at 8 knots or less and the wake is much smaller (as are the fuel bills!) but every once in awhile I need to get somewhere. I am VERY careful about where I am when I open up the throttle. I make sure...

    $0.69

Good thread. I am in the process of acquiring a 2009 Nordic Tug 37 which will be both the oldest and most complex boat that I have owned. How should I go about creating a comprehensive checklist? Not sure if the manuals are with the boat and I am sure there are items that should be on the list...

    Transiting the East River

I lived on my sailboat at Liberty Landing for a while. Did a lot of daysailing in New York Harbor so I'm used to the traffic. As I have done the New York thing, I think I'll probably head up the Harlem River to get on my way to Champlain as quickly as I can. I will likely do a couple day...

    Transiting the East River

Thanks for all the info! Sounds like the trip is doable. I may attend the Nordic Tug rendezvous in Essex Ct right before the trip. If I'm lucky maybe I can talk a local into coming along for the ride.

    Transiting the East River

I am about to become the owner of a Nordic Tug 37. I'll be bringing it from Long Island Sound to Burlington VT. That means one of my very first trips aboard will be down the East River. Once I get to New York Harbor, I'll be fine. I'm familiar with that area as I used to live aboard a...

Cruise from Racine,WI to Buffalo, NY

I suggest you go up the Michigan side of Lake Michigan. Nice towns and inlets every 15 miles or so. If you don't want to cross the lake from Racine, just head down to Chicago and go along the southern end of the lake. Door Count is very nice but I'd hate to miss all those Michigan harbors...

Winter boating life in North Carolina?

I just got home from a two day mini cruise out of New Bern. Yesterday was glorious with glass smooth water, temps around 60 and no wind. Today was getting a little sporty on the way back but not too bad. I'm at New Bern Grand and there are always plenty of people around. Downtown always has...

Reasonable buyer's broker fee if I'm selling boat myself

I am in the process right now of buying a for sale by owner boat. I've been working with a great broker for months looking for the right boat and he pointed me towards the FSBO boat. I am happily paying him 5% of the purchase price as 1) he's earned it and 2) he can facilitate all of the things...
