Where to buy 6/2 AWG tinned wire?

12g wire is only good for up to 20 amps max. For 30 Amps, 110V you should be using 10/3 If using triplex wire for DC circuits, I can certainly envision a.serious mishap due to misidentifying wires. Maybe rethink this.

running gasoline/diesel mix in an emergency

Not to be a Contrarian, but... In the 1980s in Colorado I recall a couple diesel car owners who added a small percentage of gasoline to their vehicles to improve cold weather (20°F and below) starting. As overnight temps would approach -30°F in the mountains during the winter, this supposedly...

    G10 Fiberglass

G10 G10 is also referred to as Garolite, though that is actually a brand name, sorta like Kleenex.

    Batteries

I have been quite happy with 6V FLA golf cart batteries in a series/parallel arrangement. I am surprised that no one has mentioned gel cell batteries, which I think are a better option than AGM.

OB stolen - Need Better Lock

I had the Masterlock version of the lock you pictured. Worked great until one of the several loose pieces fell overboard. Now, if in a questionable area, I use a short length of 3/8" chain with a BIG padlock to secure it. As an aside, I have only encountered theft while in US waters. Never...

Which Micron filter to use in Racor?

I don't believe you are correct. I think you might be confusing fuel consumption with fuel flow. There is considerably more fuel sent to high pressure pump than what the engine consumes, and all this fuel passes through both filters, before returning to fuel tank. Yanmar recommends a 30...

Good Fuel Price on the Upper Chesapeake But

Why do you go out of your way to demean sailors. This was a post about failing to disclose the cost for a service. Rather tasteless on your part.

    halon system

Plenty of halon substitutes - FM-200, Halotron, etc. The problem is that the volumetric efficiency of the alternate products will certainly mean your existing halon canister would be too small. If the original material is still present at the proper weight/volume, might as well keep the system...

Dock construction for high winds and tide

I suspect that I know the area you are considering. Two points: The holding in this area is frequently poor - ranging from a pudding-like mush, to a sandy, tiny shell-filled mud. A good holding sandy bottom can be found, but typically not in the canals. You are right about the Matthew...

    Winter Florida destinations?

Regarding Hammock Beach Marina: OTA TV questionable, except for a few intermittent channels and some religious programming. And that will require a good antenna. WiFi at the slips is simply overwhelmed for the majority of the day. Better off using cellular/smart phone as hotspot/tethering...
