Broken T6.354 Range 4 Oil Dip Stick - HELP

You should have a dipstick on both sides but you could probably get one from a Massey Ferguson dealer. That engine was used in their tractors and combines for years.

Setting sights on Bahamas with many questions

This November I will be heading to Florida and then across to the Bahamas. I will probably be traveling alone but hope to meet up with some like minded travelers. I have no wish to become a target of theft or otherwise and would like to know some of the safer parts to travel to. Anchorages etc...

    Six months plus?

Yes, thought about that too. Not sure about ice conditions in the spring and a much longer trip. Might be better to spend a few weeks in the Bahamas and then Florida.

    Six months plus?

I'll have to call US Immigration and find out.

    Six months plus?

I helped a guy take a boat to Fort Myers last fall. I've been in the Erie Canal as well. I'm retiring and want to spend an entire winter someplace warmer than north of the 49th. Thanks for your input.

From Nov 1st to May 15 is 197 days.

    Six months plus?

I would like to travel to the U.S. next winter but there may be a problem with being there longer than six months. My home port is Sugarloaf Marina on Lake Erie. The NY State canal closes on November 15 and doesn't reopen until May 1st. In order to get into the Hudson I would be entering the...

    Scotty or Cannon Downrigger?

I agree with greatlaker. Big jon is the way to go. I have had manuals and they work fine. I run 4 electric now but that's not how I started.

    Bringing a vehicle

Very innovative. Just a little out of my budget though. I think my boat was cheaper.

    Bringing a vehicle

Lol. I guess you could or should be able to load anything if you spend that much. My sons weld shop is designing one made from aluminum tubing and a manual hydraulic jack. The simplicity makes it practical and it goes together with quick pins in minutes. Since we replaced the rear deck with 1/4"...

    Bringing a vehicle

I am presently designing a small hydraulic crane to lift and service the generator as well as load and unload my Harley. I am planning a trip to Florida and would like to bring the bike along. I'll let you know how we make out.

    For our motorcycle riders

Hi all, Motorcycles and boats. Love them both. Just designing a hydraulic folding crane for two uses. To lift the generator in and out for servicing and to load and unload the Harley. Heading for Florida next winter and making plans to take my bike.

    Power inverters

It appears that the battery banks are the weak link in all this but still have to recharge them from shore, alternator, solar etc. This is more work and monitoring than it may be worth for my application. The Kubota gen set will be going in and with 7kw I'll have plenty of power.

    Power inverters

Well, I'm back to the generator again after all the comments and suggestions. This is where I began almost 3 years ago. Since I have twin diesels the Kubota generator will work ok other than access for maintenance. We are planning on building a special hoist that attaches to the deck to set in...

    Power inverters

I would like to thank all of you for your input. Originally I was thinking generator and due to the added noise and vibration thought I would explore the inverter route. Fish get spooked from vibration. But since then and considering the information that everyone has supplied I am now thinking...

    Power inverters

Thank you all for your input. I am a couple of months away from doing this so I have time for research. Thanks again and safe boating Gord

    Power inverters

It's not for heating its for air conditioning. 90 degree heat and windless days are the issue with humidity at near 100 percent. The engines idle at 700 and my sons and I can manufacture the mounting hardware needed. I have the electrical panel and the transfer switch. Two 8D deep cycle 240 amp...

    Power inverters

Prior to all the suggestions I was planning on installing a 4000w inverter connected to three deep cycle batteries. I was told that there are high output alternators that work at low rpm as well and planned one for each engine. These would be in addition to alternators presently installed which...

    Power inverters

10000 btu. Runs on a 15amp circuit so will spike on startup but settle down to around 1200 watts running

    Power inverters

Is anyone using a power inverter to run a heat pump? I'm exploring different options but due to limited space I'm trying to eliminate a generator. I have twin perkins T6 354.4's and also am looking at a pair of belt driven generators. Any info in this regard would be appreciated
