One thing to consider. If you get Boat US towing through your geico policy it covers ONLY that vessel. If you buy the towing separately it covers all your vessels plus those you rent. As I own a trawler and an 18 foot runabout it makes sense to do it that way. FYI

I'm happy with Cetol, of course my boat has very little teak on it. One advantage also is that Cetol can be removed fairly easy with a heat gun and scraper as opposed to varnish in my opinion. I put a coat or two every season, surprised how well it does on swim platform that gets a lot of splash.

I had once considered spin on adapters for the dual CAV filters on my Perkins T6.3544 engine, but realized as you did I didn't have enough clearance under the filters as the adapters add an inch or two in height. I'll stay with what I have.
